Would you believe I still have my two spread-bets from last year open. Cost me about 70p a day to keep them going but, to say they've made me a healthy tax free profit, would be an understatement! Definitely not for the faint hearted, but MCRO is an exception. ;-)

Well done rochae!

It looks we may achieve 600p today.

Old adage of cutting losses and running winners apply here. Most people do the opposite. Any dips here I will look to add.

Yes, I love spread betting. No tax, early divi. When the trade goes in your favour, you generate huge amounts of trading resources. I haven't bought a single share in almost 20 years now.

Mind you, I lost an awful lot in 2008.

Anyway, whatever works.

Sometimes it's more to do with knowing your company. I've been following mcro for 15 years or more. Pog for more than 10 years. So news means a bit more. The trading statement last Nov was a massive buy signal.

And you trade in leverage?Crikey no disrespect but isn't that a great way to lose it all?

rochdae....my portfolio revolves. 9 months ago I had CINE, GOG. As they reach where they should I tend to add or remove from my portfolio. I tend to have only 6 or 7 at any one time.

I gave up the idea of a portfolio of shares years ago. In the end, you just dilute your gains. I've only got mcro (and a few nano for old time's sake). Last year it was POG etc.. I pile in geared on the spreads and wait.

Not text book stuff and wouldn't advise it, but seems to work for me. Nothing to do with charts or fundamentals, I just read the company releases and buy the good news.

yes, SAGA is of interest too. Had some in the low 200s but sold too early

Will we see 600p touched this week in run up to Easter. Momentum indicates really wants too!Gap to be filled as we know to 800p and with fundamentals and momentum turned anything is possible.

My equal largest are ITX (started at 2p) and MCRO (218p). Then NEX (120p). Then AGL (42p) and was in SAGA but sold a couple of weeks ago at 400p as I knew a drop was coming (lots of cancellations at my Italian villa rentals). Will buy back into SAGA in a few days. Plus some BMN but they are a shambles at the moment.

MCRO still my largest holding and share your sentiment but was probably time to let a few go...You invested in much else?

Well...good luck with it. I am staying fully in MCRO and adding up to around 850p. Then it will be time to look at the horizon. The way we are going that date will be around 19/5/21 (only 7 weeks away) with the 6 month trading update....

I have started buying AU.Bar a few exceptions (vis a vis MCRO etc ) mkts are insanely overbought - the fed cannot indefinitely postpone the inevitable, substantial rise in inflation imo.LSEG also hugely oversold so have been buying there...

sceptical....you bought at 211p (I remember that when I bought on 30/10 at 218p it dropped for about 2 days to 208p) and I felt cheated until it started motoring upwards. I am amazed you top sliced on this share. What share offers more right now? I am interested!

The rise seems rapid but remember MCRO reached 500p back in December 2020 and since then we have had amazing news month after month. I think we will rise a lot further and then have a drop back with profit takers.
