Well I had a long day in the day job, so looking in here now. I would describe the results as a perfect platform for future growth. It has been a long time coming. To Sceptical, Roch and others who kept the faith in the difficult times, patience has been rewarded.

I have £5.14 as the main resistance which are hopefully well through. I cant see anything now until circa 797 but we will see

IMHO This will retrace far quicker than LLOYDS and a Credit Suisse upgrade in the morning

Agreed Roch. Even at the current level of revenue Micro could have easily paid more divi but the management decided wisely IMHO to invest in innovative digital transformational capabilities and to decrease net debt: "Micro Focus plans to make a $0.15 shareholder payout after seeing typically strong cash flows during the year to 31 October 2020, despite the pandemic.

Operating cash flow totalled $1.1 billion last year, comfortably covering interest payments of $207 million, bank loan costs ($47.9 million), tax ($150 million), capex ($87 million) and lease-related capital payments ($80.1 million).

Net debt was also cut from $4.6 billion to $4.2 billion. The dividend will cost a relatively small $50.3 million."

So they're targeting fcf of 700 million in the next 24 months. That's a huge increase. Divi could be 3x or 4x from here easily.

CEO Stephen Murdoch sounds very confident: “We’re pleased with progress full stop, but we are especially pleased in the context of trying to execute a turnaround where everyone is meeting on Microsoft Teams or Zoom. We’ve refinanced our debt in the period, so we’ve no maturities out until 2024. We’ve still got a huge amount to do, but we generated a really strong amount of cash and really strong levels of profit, which is allowing us to make the investments that we want to make in the business so that we actually come out the other end stronger." The slow thinking wise guys from Gladstone (whose average shorting position is~ £4.4-4.7) would now be closing at a loss. They continued shorting Micro at ~£3. Too greedy and unwise to do it IMHO in this digital transformation sector with growing global demand of AI, cyber security and cloud compatible software services.
