Been a lurker for months on here.

But thanks for some informed comments that helped me with my own further research to keep me in through most of the recent drift to below £4.

I bought quite a few initially in the high £4s and a few at around the £5 level, but added more on the way down to below £4.

Fingers crossed that we move beyond that.

Great to see the reinstated dividend, especially the size of it. That should be the most material development today. Agree with the comments on the impairment charges... more like a kitchen sink job hopefully.

Let's hope for a good day.

Regards,

planit2 - I read the same and also this ...

We are focussed on delivering the objective of revenue stabilisation as we exit FY23 and continue to target incremental improvements in revenue trajectory annually in order to achieve this goal.

I was thinking the CEO report was negative but this is buried and sounds good.

"The second half of FY20 saw a sequential improvement in revenue performance and we have continued this momentum into the first quarter of FY21."

Has anyone else found anything relating to current performance?

Cautious approach to dividend policy at 5×cover is the right one with prospect of increasing % of profits. Even so at current sp, 4.6% annualised divi yeild is one of the highest in the FTSE100."The board has reviewed and considered the key factors of cash performance, balance sheet and macro-economic factors and have concluded it is now appropriate to re-instate the Group's dividend. The board is recommending a final dividend of 15.5 cents for FY20. This is equivalent to half a year's dividend at 5 x cover. In terms of dividend policy, we will initially aim to pay a dividend which is approximately five times covered by our Adjusted Profit After tax in each financial period. Our aim is then to increase the percentage of profits distributed to shareholders as we execute our strategy of stablising the business"

>The impairment means nothing to the value of MCRO now.

Well it does and its positive. It means they can generate strong cash flow and pay no tax!

11.3p which is about 2.3% div for 6 months (final). Stated that they will aim to increase this going forward. It's a start at least with 0% at banks and as many stated will now attract income funds as well going forward.

sceptical....100% agree. The impairment means nothing to the value of MCRO now. It is ALL ABOUT future cash flow. Nothing else.

well done - following further substantial buying in the 3s my avg has now climbed to the low 3s but will continue to add, especially now that the divi is re-instated.

the market is forward looking, it will no longer consider microfocus in a slightly negative light, it will now concentrate on Microfocus as a recovery stock that pays a dividend........... income funds will buy back in..

target price £8 , in due course ( i.e NOT TODAY )
