02/3/2024 09:29 | The share primarily But the distinct lack of any interest in moving the share in any direction means it is looking a bit flat. Every time it looks like getting a proper head the flow is turned off Until that interest is reawakened there are better avenues to place my money . Will be glad when Easter arrives should trigger a bit more interest if like me you are passing a nod to the lentern observances There is value here but the management need to get a shift on | jubberjim
01/3/2024 23:02 | Well said but 10.37 is far too early even for me :) | pj84
01/3/2024 10:37 | Its Friday, lets drown our sorrows - Cheers! | skinny
01/3/2024 10:34 | "Too much time spent gazing into empty screens and not enough time being spent gazing into the bottom of an empty glass. Looking to top up again" The shares or the empty glass?! ;-) | jeffian
01/3/2024 05:29 | The trouble with this share and others Like me and countless others Too much time spent gazing into empty screens and not enough time being spent gazing into the bottom of an empty glass. Looking to top up again if only the price wasn't so constipated at these levels. CPI similarly afflicted Good luck Cheers everybody! | jubberjim
01/3/2024 02:26 | The trendy money is all flowing into crypto, yuppies trying to get rich quick.. personally I prefer to get poor slowly! | boffster
28/2/2024 23:24 | >Heatseek77 >21 Feb '24 - 11:56 - 7040 of 7052 "If you'd done any research you'd know debt isn't seen as an issue here as it's more than covered by assets." That's great news , so no one in the city is bothered about the debt any more and the share price has risen to £1.05 per share then ! Thanks for your wisdom..... Except .... the share price is down to 29.5p ! Close to all time lows ? | fenners66
28/2/2024 16:34 | alan@bj The problem is you don’t inflate away the massive interest charges because they simply increase with it. they have advised debt is now coming down (or static at worst ) so in real terms the debt is most certainly decreasing - although whether the value of their assets is going up or down in real terms is open for debate !!! | rmillaree
28/2/2024 15:52 | Interest charges increase? How do you figure that? Inflation is good news for debt since the amount you owe reduces in real terms. | boffster
27/2/2024 23:02 | Payable with ever-increasing amounts of 'funny money' from tax revenues on inflated wages. | jeffian
27/2/2024 17:32 | The problem is you don’t inflate away the massive interest charges because they simply increase with it. | alan@bj
27/2/2024 14:39 | The Government is conflicted when it comes to inflation. Q: How do you get an unsustainable national debt under control? A: Inflate it away. I'm afraid they are not necessarily on our side! | jeffian
27/2/2024 13:33 | Never mind they can put interest rates up again as fuel is also rising but folk need to get to work to pay tax and the national debt Go figure | barnes4
27/2/2024 13:29 | This NLW rises are insane. Govt wants to get inflation under control, at the same time as creating it | boffster
23/2/2024 15:31 | re energy prices which have tumbled this year, the relief for Marston is at least a year away, as Marston said this in their annual results on Dec 5th "Continuing to manage inflationary challenges within our control: energy costs secured with electricity fixed until end of FY2024 and gas until end of March 2025; offsetting other costs through efficiencies and pricing strategies" | llef
23/2/2024 14:55 | NLW wage up 10% in April and will offset any cost savings on energy. All pubs and restaurants will experience the same, so prices and revenue will rise. Higher NLW and lower energy prices will put more disposable income in the pockets of customers. On balance its a difficult call. | darrin1471
23/2/2024 14:44 | My feeling is that the sector has taken a further knock this year, so I am expecting a few profit warnings, I'll be pleasantly surprised if I'm wrong. The thing about MARS is it trades on a small fraction of its book value so I'd say there's a hell of a lot of bad news in the price. One positive is that energy costs have massively fallen now and its a big input cost for hospitality. | boffster
21/2/2024 12:04 | There's a bit of consolidation in this space. I've bought RBG and topped up on my Mars . | the imperialist
21/2/2024 11:57 | Don't worry I'm sure once Justin gets going we won't be bothered about past rejected offers | heatseek77
21/2/2024 11:56 | NY gal,I will quote from the cury thread (another one you missed out on) you is a shiesta who spouts constant drivel. If you'd done any research you'd know debt isn't seen as an issue here as it's more than covered by assets. | heatseek77
20/2/2024 16:13 | George…man up and put that Erasure album away 🤔 | ny boy
18/2/2024 10:14 | george, you could always pretend you're a woman. Lots of people getting away with that these days. You could even pretend to be a black woman for extra points and, regardless of how ludicrous, no one will dare question it. You could change your user name to georgina stobart. Has a ring to it don't you think ? 🤣 | dexdringle |
