Closing Auction price 34p.
Over the last 3 days some chunky trades have gone though above 35p , including 1.8m after 16:30 today.

Well boys and girls, price comfortably above the 200 day MA. Both 21 and 50 days crossed the 200 day now. Since early October it has made a series of higher lows coupled with higher highs. This is looking firmly like a full recovery play.

Barclays data, which covers nearly half of the nation’s credit and debit card transactions, reported that restaurants reported a sales fall vs December 2022, but bars, pubs and clubs had a better month with spending up 7.9 per cent.

was starting to think id lost the plot. this represents excellent value on basic metrics. imho, should be trading at twice current price. 600mn positive equity in estate, 250mn value of remaining brewery business, 150mn profit pa from trading ops, current market cap 200mn? like the man said, its a no brainer.

I have looked at the fundamentals, I'm more than okay with what I see and the risk reward. Until it has confirmed the breakout I'm also okay to sit and wait.

Mark Wright, portfolio manager at Momentum Global Investment Management says that Marston’s is undervalued, highlighting that its debt levels have fallen after selling property assets and 60% of its brewery business to Carlsberg. Wright highlights that Marston has close to £1.8bn of freehold property with just £1.2bn of debt against it.

“The valuation it achieved on the disposal means that the remaining 40% of the brewery business that the company still own is valued at around £250m today. That compares to a market capitalisation for Marston’s of less than £200m. It is not inconceivable that somebody will buy that remaining stake from Marston’s in the future. The entire pub estate should also be able to generate operating profits of more than £170m in the near future. It is obvious that the shares are currently massively mispriced.”

No position but onto my watchlist.

From June 23, the chart actually looks pretty good with a series of higher lows and higher highs, but for a significant step, change this level is an important peg. I remain ever hopeful.
