Close Bros has been a big car finance funder and now the FCA is wading in on historical commission payments to car dealers going back as far as 2007. Along with other banks, Close could end up with a big compensation bill.

Of course thanks very much

Close Brothers Group thought about it and still thinking but will wait a while

Do I really need another bargain of a lifetime or another disappointing impulse buy

By election results won t have me doing cartwheels

Conserving cash is my bag for time being

Armand, Heineken.

Everywhere I look I see more news which is not inspiring me.

Will hang on for as long as possible but will sell and take the hit unless things improve.

Holding out on hope ? but have basically given these up as a bad job.

Give me some good news !

Will sleep a lot better when this manages to break up through 35 but is not looking good to me

New years resolutions over and done with with very little upside evident so far .

We are now fast approaching the run up to Easter with again similar abstinence resolutions for the next month or so.

These shares and others have been in hibernation and I don t believe in any significant change for the better anytime soon.

Hopefully when the new tax year dawns investors will wake from their slumbers and again partake .

Has been a long hard winter so far.

The sock drawer is feeling the cold

Hanging on for time being.

Good luck

Recent revamped menu looks to be an improvement.. it was somewhat behind the GNK offering before IMO but is now up to par.

Well spotted, hadn't looked tbh. Both are working out that there's 187m shares in issue rather than 634m.

The 31st RNS was Morgan Stanley selling just over 1%.The 1st Feb RNS was Welcome Trust buying 1.2% (I guess the bull could have been Morgan Stanley's sale?).

A couple of them around here were pubs before JDW took them over, but many are converted from previous uses as they want a larger footprint than most tradditional pubs. I suspect the majority of Marstons pubs that they may want to offload are probably too smal.

I can't think of a single location locally where JDW have bought a pub off another operator. JDW normally buy or lease a non pub building and spend £1m+ making it into a pub.
JDW have been shrinking their pub estate for a few years now, so Tim Martin talking about 1000 pubs again raised a few eyebrows.
I hold £1 in MARS shares for every £6 I hold in JDW. I have be waiting for a MARS breakout since November 2022
