23/3/2006 19:24 | GS Informative. We'll see. | ![]() eriktherock
23/3/2006 19:20 | Mattybuoy - as far as i know there are no Oxus plans to takeover MKD or MKD de-list. In fact one may well find OXS stop offering 1 for 3 as their goal of leveraging comes to fruition (more likely 1 for 2 !) EtR - "MKD too risky than OXS", not sure how you make that one out. OXS operate in Uz, had bad luck with Jerooy and disaster with EUG. When OXS started it's first mine construction it was forced to hedge at $350/oz, now de-hedged but that's why many were disappointed with latest results, including yourself. Now look at MKD, if they get the Khandiza approval the prospects are huge. Guess OXS are buying Marakand 'cos Khandiza is another disaster and they just want to be kind to all MKD shareholders ;-) Not looking good for Oxus buying another dud, or is it ? ! MKD 22p tops, yes that sound about right LOL ! | ![]() giant steps
23/3/2006 17:11 | Anybody know at what percentage of OXS ownership MKD would have to be de-listed? | ![]() mattybuoy
23/3/2006 16:56 | Agree. A major reason for buying OXUS last year was MKD (I'm a silver Bull) but MKD seemed too risky for a large investment hence I bought OXs which held 57% MKD at that time. Now it looks like I'll be holding MKD without buying any! 22p tops imo. | ![]() eriktherock
23/3/2006 16:35 | I doubt whether MKD has many weeks left as a quoted co The writing is on the wall loud and clear | ![]() phillis
23/3/2006 16:27 | Disagree Phillis, but then i'm inclined not to waste time arguing this point again, i will just see how the market prices MKD in days and weeks to come. Enjoy, if you like ! | ![]() giant steps
23/3/2006 16:24 | Since there is a ready buyer at 23p i.e.OXS, it is hard to see why the MKD price doesn't reflect this. There is no reason other than positive news re the licence for the price to move beyond 23p other than a major break to the upside by OXS | ![]() phillis
23/3/2006 16:03 | Actually the OXS strategy of leveraging value is interesting. This may be what the orginal 'swap deal' was about. MKD convertees get retro 'top-up' | ![]() giant steps
23/3/2006 15:54 | Stock will need to be delivered for all conversions. Musical chairs now i'm afraid, when/if the music stops it will be a scramble. Screen prices bid 20p offer 21.5p, volume @ 15:50 94K / 10 trades [ note 5,25,10,5,10 successive MM trades @ 21p, think on ] | ![]() giant steps
23/3/2006 15:35 | were there some naughty short MMs? | ![]() eurofox
23/3/2006 15:34 | MM s jumping in!!! Something must be up!! | ![]() cezary
23/3/2006 15:23 | of course they can progressively pick them up from wimps that can't see where this is headed - just hold on and watch the price climb (to 30p?) - ah, was that another tick-up? | ![]() eurofox
23/3/2006 15:19 | GS why would OXS pay 30p when they can progressively pick them up at the market price? (I'm surprised that MKD aren't higher currently). | ![]() eriktherock
23/3/2006 15:14 | it is interesting that the shares still in the marketplace are the only form of market-validation of the worth of MKD and what you suggest GS is not so daft as a way of leveraging the value of the share already acquired by OXS | ![]() eurofox
23/3/2006 15:10 | I won't be surprised if Oxus simply offer a fixed price, say 30p, for all remaining Marakand holders to sell out. In the market OXS share price will rise into high 80's on news, and 1 for 3 offer ratio still maintained, fair but not generous. | ![]() giant steps
23/3/2006 12:54 | cezary - yes it would be, but perhaps not as much of a win for anyone buying MKD in anticipation of them outperforming OXS. Just to re-iterate though, this is idle speculation and is not based of anything I know about. | ![]() zaphod99
23/3/2006 12:48 | so zaphod..its a win win situation for holders no matter what happens. | ![]() cezary
23/3/2006 12:43 | GS - Just pure speculation on my part. The licence negotiations with the Uzbekis/Turks might now be on the basis that Oxus will soon own MKD 100% and Marakand will no longer exist as a separate company and therefore the licences will be granted to Oxus instead. This might explain why the institutions were willing to accept the 3 for 1 offer because if MKD is such a good prospect why were they so willing to give up their MKD shares for OXS shares? It might also be the reason why there have been such long delays with the Khandiza and Akjilga licences. | ![]() zaphod99
23/3/2006 12:26 | zaphod99 - Look for re-assurance that the rights were fully transferred to MKD, so Khandiza award is to the company Marakand NOT Oxus Prospects for MKD just seem to get better otherwise why do Oxus want our shares? | ![]() giant steps
23/3/2006 12:23 | GS - what in particular should I be looking for? | ![]() zaphod99
23/3/2006 12:15 | zaphod99 - refer to Marakand AIM listing documents ! | ![]() giant steps
23/3/2006 12:09 | I'm still not convinced that the MKD share price will rise much from it's current level and I reckon BT will have a strategy to prevent that from happening. For example.......how about if the Khandiza/Akjila licences were awarded to Oxus rather than Marakand. Oxus rises, Marakand shares become worthless and untradable so all outstanding MKD holders end up accepting the 3 for 1 offer so nobody loses out. | ![]() zaphod99
23/3/2006 11:49 | gs...can only be good imo for us pis; the share price will have to rise on the squeeze. | ![]() cezary
23/3/2006 11:40 | Screen prices bid 19p offer 20.5p, volume @ 11:30 39K / 5 trades Well OXS prise 1,343,097 MKD shares from weak holders. May not be so easy getting the rest; share price squeeze begins imo | ![]() giant steps
23/3/2006 10:31 | Who/What next Oxus??....I mean I have much more shares in mkd than the latest scalp!! | ![]() cezary |
