GtG - no surprise, i continue to hold MKD

Hope they'll be a few red faces when OXS falls and MKD rises!

Still see no incentive to convert.

In for the ride.

Closing prices MKD 24-25.5p, OXS 76.5-77p

I will hold my mkd.
Why?
Im a gambling man.

You could argue that oxs have no plans to forceably buy any mkd shares ( solina has said this).
Indeed I reckon they would be quids in just carrying on as they are.
If oxs just ignore the final remaining stubborn 5% or so then so what. They have 95% of the asset.
Why bother with 2:1 to tempt the rest when that means you have to pay out big time to the early converters.
It will be cheaper to ignore the remaining 5% and reward their loyalty.
I dont think oxs have any plans to upgrade the deal!!!!
(unless K license finalized as already agreed)
They could also use this to their advantage in pushing the share price up to swell their balance sheet as a tsx listing is on the cards.

There is no point preaching to the converted.

I reckon us stubborn ones may get a fat reward.

More than 3:1 should be tested when turkey jv details announced.
Currently no npv attatched and that will change? Eh Phillis?

If peeps made riskless money then well done but holding on may prove to be a very rewarding tactic.

Phillis you serve yourself. That is an observation not a critisism. :o)
You are posting to weaken sentiment and buy some?

Good luck all

3 MKD still not worth 1 OXS despite bad day for OXS

So 'Asset Value Investors' have discharged their 5,822,068 shares to Oxus. So another approx 2million Oxus to be issued. That leaves about 13million MKD shares.

Thanks Cezary , but I can't go overboard on MKD. URL has the numbers to be a potential 10 or 20 bagger or even better, but the probability of it being so looks extreemely low at the moment: Many Iranians would prefer martyrdom fighting the West than improving their living standards? I can't believe we would let Iran sit on an undeveloped zinc mine the size of Red Dog just because we can't reach an agreement with a proud nation that even feels Western pop music was deliberately invented to undermine their culture. I believe Mehdiabad will come into production one day, but it is certainly going to be one hell of a challenge with all the sabre rattling going on at the moment between the West and Iran. The most immediate worry there is if the BFS will be completed before a pre-emptive strike is launched (the staff would be expelled?) and valuable mineral exploitation rights might end up being reassigned to US companies to help pay for the cost of regime change? There are further company specific issues that are as equally worrying as the political background is, but the world zinc production deficit, according to a Teck Cominco graph I've seen, is set to worsen? (I've not read the EIU Base Metals Forecasts).

nobull...here it is again....

We continue to engage the govt on this matter, all constitutive documentation has been submitted and we await their comments. The project is in the National Investment Program for 2006 which confirms their desire for us to commence development next year. We appreciate your patience and support for what is undoubtedly a great opportunity, especially in the current commodity environment.

Cezary, Thanks for the posting of the comforting email you had a long time back from the CEO. I didn't understand your last grumble at my suggestion we won't get better than 3 for 1, but no matter: OXS and MKD are both higher now than then. I still hold my MKD and OXS. I refuse to believe OXS can't advance when the rating of AVM is so much massively higher than OXS.

While keeping one foot in the frying pan (MKD) I've just put the other in the fire (URL). URL has humdereds of things wrong with it, but like MKD it trades at fraction of NPV. All the best.

Philis ... I think we are all prone to sililoquy at times on this board and it has been a bit dramatic in that we are seeing more buys of this stock.

For the avoidance of doubt 3 MKD shares will never be worth more than 1 OXS until MKD is granted a licence by the Uzbek authorities - notwithstanding GS's soliloquising( a good word that)

Looks like a delayed 100k sell over at oxus has caused the drop. nms for oxus is 50k.
Also no reason for MKD except someone trying to shake the tree over at Oxus ...imo.

Looks like short term noise on MKD and OXS

Can't see Oxus getting many MKD takers for conversion, starting to look messy

Prices @ 10:00

MKD 23.5 - 25.5
OXS 75.0 - 77.0

Prices @ 08:30

MKD 25.0 - 26.50p, volume 22K / 2 trades
OXS 78.0 - 79.75p, volume 50K / 6 trades

Still no incentinve to convert, prices preserve ratio 1 OXS 3 MKD

Wonder if MKD will now rise faster than OXS ?

A US commodities analyst interviewed on Bloomberg this week said he expects silver to continue moving higher to reach mid to late teens by end of 2006 as demand continues to outstrip supply. 30% - 50% more upside he reckons.

Not a good candidate for shorting imho.

Hectorp - silver has had a good run recently but it's a brave man who shorts it just as Barclays Global Investors are about to launch their silver ETF. This is likely be the first of many, which should continue to drive the price of silver higher.

Silver is the sleeper in the Oxus portfolio and when they do finally announce that Vysokovoltnoye is in full production it will make a lot of people sit up and take notice. Not sure if there are genuine delays or they're deliberately holding it back so they can time the announcement to their (and our) advantage.

Cezary -

MKD 25 - 26.5p
OXS 78 - 80.0p

Interesting to look back on 2 yr share price chart.
Before Marakand had announced Khandiza BFS the price was above 60p.
( no change in 'ords in issue' )

Doesn't take a genius to work out the implications in today's money,
although appears many flowers have wilted. Obvious why Oxus want it back !

Looks like rewards for the brave.

Surprised MKD are not putting out an official RNS. Bit naughty to disclose such price sensitive info in an email to a single shareholder!

GS - Just popped in to see you have been taking my name in vain

Bad news about Akjilga - doesn't fill you full of confidence does it?
Let's hope OXS other news i.e. silver, can offset the pall over MKD.

PS if you sell your 3 MKD you will get 75p whereas I get 78p for my 1 OXS.
You are still behind the eight ball!

GS, you could be right. I am not sure if it would have gone much faster without the tranche. Maybe there would have been an RNS or something on the homepage about completing the due diligence. Preparing JV-documentation in about a month is OK. I am not sure how much still has to be done, but even for some last details it is OK. The interims said that the due diligence would be completed end of March, not that the JV would be signed...
