27/4/2006 11:03 | I cant see outcome no3 as its already in the works for this happen with the Uzbeks... | ![]() cezary
27/4/2006 09:50 | Yes, assuming an 80% chance OXS will grab all the upside in MKD for itself, and 20% it won't (leave the MKD listing intact) then the outcomes look like this (all very subjective these assumptions) Outcome No. 1 We hit the Khandiza jackpot (5 to 10 times?) 0.8 x 0.2 = 16% chance Outcome No. 2 Oxus forces all of us to convert and we double our money on Oxus as a result of Khandiza getting the go-ahead: 0.8 x 0.8 = 64% Outcome No. 3 Khandiza JV is not approved and we suffer losses: 20% chance | ![]() nobull
26/4/2006 17:47 | nobull - 'we may still be beaten to the Khandiza jackpot by Oxus itself' Very true, and to this point i have directly acquired some more Oxus shares so i can play it both ways, which is different from converting ! Will hold Marakand throughout this debacle. | ![]() giant steps
26/4/2006 17:40 | Well not me, I still hold. I think the probability of success on the JV approval is about 80% (20% is for something completely unforeseen preventing approval?). Yes GS, I am keener on this stock, but I am not buying any more. The fact President IK received Lord Salisbury (whoever he is) was encouraging too. I was wrong about the resource figures for URL. They are quoted on the same basis as MKD (both use a 2% cut-off. Do they use lower and lower cut-offs as the metals bull market continues?). While financing (at a reasonable price) shouldn't be a problem for MKD , there is no certainty it won't be a problem for URL. I intend not to be fooled into thinking the recent rise in MKD has anything to do with the likelihood of Khandiza getting approved: it is more to do with the rise in the gold price and OXS's rise? Thanks (GRGK? or Zaphod?)for posting the article about Khandiza possibly going into production in 2007. All positive signs but we are not out of the woods yet, and of course we may still be beaten to the Khandiza jackpot by Oxus itself. | ![]() nobull

25/4/2006 16:39 | Tough to predict a minnow like this, so open to manipulation and as ever the PI will be the last ot find out. Looks good on what is known, but it's always what isn't (publicly) that will determine where it goes. (Oooh I can be such a cynic!) | ![]() the drewster

25/4/2006 10:10 | Jock...Looked at their web site... If this is the company we are talking about, and nowhere does it say they have subsidiary companies buying out and developing Commodity Companies. They are strictly Fund managers. If I am wrong in my analysis, let me know. | ![]() cezary
25/4/2006 09:57 | Cezary, could you add a bit more meat to that. Not 100% what that means. cheers Jock | jockthescot
25/4/2006 09:50 | My understanding of the 'Strategic Investment Group' is that they are strictly fund managers and are not into buying/developing resources. | ![]() cezary
25/4/2006 09:28 | This news, posted by grgkecer on the OXS board: 25.04.2006 13:01 New investor of "Jerooy" gold mine agreed with all requirements of Kyrgyz government Bishkek, April 25. (KABAR). A new investor of "Jerooy" gold mine agreed with all requirements of Kyrgyz government. The company is subdivision of financial and investment consortium "Strategic Investment Group".
