The very good CITY CONFIDENTIAL on line publication written by Simon Flather a excellent and now independent ( ex Rednayne B)
Simon has some good contacts and leads and has followed MFX for a good while.
He points out a p/e sub 4 is crazy and expects the shares to rise as most of us do.
This has to be the best £10 a month spent and this could explain yesterday’s rise.

to my taste chairmans role is not to work but to steere with wisdom and determination too

few good lines per year, few initiatives will do - i would pay him a lot

get me some of the best people, best info, best warnings ... be connected, compare ..

in order to do it - he has to be accepted and be around. the big Q is with whom and where and if he acts as he should

Its selling on a p/e of 4 with a 50% discount to NAV

I am right on the limit to report i would take a few out at a p/e of 12

...it's a fair comment I guess that J.Mellon sits on the bod at many companies

However, my guess is that at MFX that his function is relatively small since he only gets paid ~£50-55k, which is non-exec type pay at small AIM companies.
Sure, JM is officially the exec. chairman if my memory is correct, but imo his having exec. powers is surely because he is the biggest shareholder (where the holding results from 1 person).
At £50-55k it is not a full time job for him.

...at some time they will start taking deposits on-line in the UK

since the co. invested in that type of thing in advance of getting the UK banking licence it feels to me like it is slow progress but I guess the IT must have many checks & protections built in to stop some Russian hacker nicking the money !
& to ensure that the management/supervision/access to a client's money is all automated & meets all normal client needs etc. And useable by a client using an app.
and surely has to go thru tests.

so it must take time.

Although one would have thought that MFX had suitable existing IT for its IoM bank which could be used as the basis. Although perhaps the co. could be taking the opportunity for a generational upgrade.

(dilution due to issue of scrip divi shares, 1m shares, number of shares increases from ~116m shares to ~117m shares.
equivalent to a fall in the share price of ~0.16p (0.86% of 19p).
