Ok Churchill much appreciated

Anyway by the bye took a few here as Pru seems to have reached a nadir at 710 level
So my 707 bid now looks to be going unfilled hence back in here

Markets Investors and my good self totally clueless so the dividend covers a multitude of sins

Thanks again

Have removed my interest in Pru as serves no purpose now

Good luck

This doesn't seem to be in much (new ISA) demand.

It was a clean break. The PRU share were 1506p which became 220p M&G and 1286p PRU. If you had 1000 shares in the PRU you inherited 1000 M&G. The PRU also separated out their US interests in Jackson Financial which has had a remarkable run.

Here is a quick question

As is the case with Abdn and Phnx

Do the Prudential and Mng maintain a cross holding in each other as a result of the separation of Pru and Mng

I ask as Mng has been losing ground over the last few days as has the Pru

Can anyone offer any insight

Thanks

Fully agree, you get moments when you have a good chance of getting it right, but then we are all gambling.
The thing is if we get that gamble wrong there is always the divi to live off.
High dividends seem to be offset by low/ slow growth. Each to their own!
Personally I will double my holding here before the next divi.

Well, I'm hoping so as whilst I believe in the plan I want more shares... why pay top dollar!

Skinny fair play, if you are on the pivot then big upside. I will top here but might wait until next week, though the 200 day seems to be holding for now and the gaps down will need to be filled in hopefully.

I hold all of those mentioned but am down on ABDN. I may take a small gamble in the hope that as they are so unloved and with an inevitable shake up, they are at or close to a point of inflection.

I also found a quid down the back of the sofa and have some limited flexibility in this tax years ISA - so its MNG or ABDN.

Skinny ,what’s your rational for Abdn , not looked at it for ages, just took a look the chart looks awful ? Just toying with topping up myself , still wavering because of the Iran threat though.

A well-argued piece, but of course wasted on those whose only interest is a quick gamble on what may or may not occur around ex-dividend time.

#Woodhawk, I have been building my position here since 2021 and will be keeping these for a decade for income, I added this morning having looked back at the share price movements pre/post XD March/April 2023 and the interim then forecast a repeat which is exactly what it has done (so far)..

Anyone can be wise after an event has passed, but that is very different to forecasting, planning and waiting to buy having confidence in your research, it does not always pan out, but you have to take your wins..

IF it goes to 200 pence next week for new ISA day/week then excellent, add some more, a nice average holding share price for future dividends is what I am here for..

"Is this not value at £2.07 ?"

I have no idea whether the price offers value. It isn't an investment target of mine and so I haven't looked at the accounts, assets and future cashflows. I'm interested from what is going on with regards to M&G and UK real estate.

woodhawk - we all could have done it , not in hindsight , and the one person that said they were selling pre xd , proved it worked , and could have made more.

Its about identifying those stocks with a higher probability of buying better than the xd - this seems to be one.

For those that follow such things, the RSI is looking well oversold here - potential upside (obviously), but quite a wait to the next dividend if bought now.
