11/12/2024 11:49 | That was swift. I wonder where we can read the SC order giving permission to appeal, usually only granted where there is an arguable point of law with general public interest. Has the CA decision been stayed pro tem? Guess this will delay court and FCA enforcement of restitution, while the SC decide the extent to which agent commission arrangements must be transparent when selling finance (and other things?) to ordinary consumers. I doubt whether it will change the outcome but you never know, hope causing sharp relief in LLOY share price | marktime1231

11/12/2024 10:53 | scruff1, the problem will arise in the Bond markets, no other countries will be willing to buy our Bonds. Who would want to lend to a country with the economic policies of drunk spiteful children? Most likely a Bond collapse will see Starmer booted out, the Bankers will see to that. Perhaps finally the Bankers will see that Reform would bring some credibility back to this lunatic asylum, and get behind Reform. Then there will be a rapid move of Tory MP's jumping ship to Reform, and Nigel gets to No 10. Out will go all the 'woke' poison that proliferates all our public services, hopefully along with great slabs of Gubmint pen pushers too. The country will become investable again, and we can finally fully free ourselves of the clutches of the 4th Reich. | lefrene

10/12/2024 17:58 | Court of Appeal confirms validity of ‘compromise&rs A recent decision by the Court of Appeal in London has clarified important questions for financial firms dealing with payment protection insurance (PPI) court claims, confirming that that the acceptance of PPI complaint redress can give rise to a valid compromise so that further court proceedings to revive the claims cannot be brought. | hardup1
