14/12/2024 10:30 | Trump......Anti-woke warriorClearly, not everyone believes him. In anticipation of the restoration of the anti-DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) executive order that he signed in 2020 and Biden rescinded the following year, companies and individuals have already started self-policing. Last month, Walmart announced that it was scaling back its diversity initiatives. This week, the Washington Post reported that federal employees are combing their social network profiles to delete any negative posts about Trump. Meanwhile, federal agencies have rewritten job ads mentioning topics such as DEI and climate change and recruitment agencies in Washington DC have seen a raft of requests from those looking to move into the private sector....Daily Telegraph | ![]() xxxxxy

14/12/2024 05:50 | FIZZY2. jordaggy is teasing you. There is no dividend in January. The next dividend due will be the 2024 final dividend, which will be announced at 2024 F/Y results which are released on 20th February 2025. The x-dividend date would be in April with payment date in May, both dates to be confirmed at 2024 final results. Hopefully the final dividend will be 2.12p. However, that could be impacted with the uncertainty of the ongoing FCA review into Car Finance, and the forthcoming appeal by CBG at the Supreme Court due to be held between January and March 2025, and what the judgement in that will be, so it is difficult to call at the moment how much the final dividend will be, if any. We will know on 20th February. | ![]() hardup1

13/12/2024 10:18 | 7:58AMStarmer faces 'more bad news on the horizon'The Prime Minister faces "more bad news on the horizon" after the economy shrank for two months in a row for the first time since the pandemic. The 0.1pc contraction in October follows a 0.1pc decline in September, which is the first time GDP has fallen for two consecutive months since March and April 2020, at the start of the first Covid lockdown.Sanjay Raja chief UK economist at Deutsche Bank, said: "There's probably more bad news on the horizon."He pointed to closely watched PMI data, Lloyds Business Barometer of confidence and CBI figures, which have also weakened recently. He said: "Survey data paint a more pessimistic picture for the fourth quarter than the OBR's and Bank of England's growth models suggest. "Budget uncertainty has hit demand and sentiment."He added: "To be sure, poor weather won't help lift activity in Q4-24 either. Storm Bert and Storm Darragh will have likely disrupted output meaningfully in November and early December with both storms bringing strong winds, floods, snow, and precipitation that will hit activity."...Daily Telegraph | ![]() xxxxxy |
