02/7/2024 09:45 | Starmer wanted more Lockdowns...Starmer isn't very bright. ..."Lockdown was an absolutely disastrous policy for Covid in Britain. For most people the infection caused only a minor illness, no worse than the 'flu. Yet the increased mortality caused by lockdown for cancer and heart disease totally overshadowed any reduction such a policy achieved in Covid deaths."The average age of those dying from Covid was over 81.6 years in Britain - beyond the normal average age of death. Yet we are still seeing the consequences of that policy in the late stage presentation of cancer at a much younger age - the number of life years lost will be significantly greater because of lockdown than Covid itself for years to come."Diagnostic delays occurred as people were too frightened to access medical care because of government brainwashing to 'save the NHS'. There were severe delays in getting essential scans and biopsies. This continues today as many are still frightened by the official propaganda echoed in the mainstream media. Even now the BBC website heralds a new wave of Covid this summer. 'Project fear' is proving extremely difficult to terminate."We need to learn the lessons. Controlling infection when those most likely to be harmed - the elderly, sick, obese and immuno-compromised - can be identified needs a different approach. The vulnerable should be advised to isolate whilst the majority carry on as normal. Common sense was thrown out the window by our politicians right from the beginning."Dissentin | ![]() xxxxxy
02/7/2024 09:38 | The media cliche goes that throughout this election, Sir Keir Starmer has resembled a museum curator transporting an antique across a polished floor. The analogy is unfortunate. The formidable Ming dynasty ended in a dribble of weak and remote leaders who were mercilessly manipulated by court eunuchs, before finally imploding in 1644. ....Daily Telegraph | ![]() xxxxxy

02/7/2024 07:56 | Lloyds Bank private rental offshoot starts £13m scheme Work has started on yet another Build To Rent scheme - this time a £13m project in Nottingham. The project, on a six storey period canalside building, is a joint venture between bloc Group, CRT and Citra Living, part of Lloyds Banking Group, to create 95 residential units including 12 studios 42 one-bed flats and 41 two-bedroom flats. A spokesperson for H2O says: “Working with our project partners, we’re revitalising an area of Nottingham with a brand new and modern offering, while maintaining and protecting enough of its character that we don’t lose its rich history.” Ground floor amenity space for residents will also be included and the scheme is due for completion in March 2025. Andy Hutchinson, chief executive of Citra Living, says: “Bringing disused buildings back in to use and regenerating areas into new communities is central to what Citra is about. Regenerating the warehouse will bring much needed homes to the area, allowing more people to live in the type of quality homes they want in the areas that give them access to the facilities and amenities they want.” Citra Living is the Build To Rent offshoot of Lloyds Banking Group: it owns and operates a portfolio of more than 2,000 homes across the UK. Just a month ago it acquired 156 new properties from the country’s largest housebuilder Barratt as part of a strategic partnership between the two. | ![]() freddie01
02/7/2024 07:54 | Lloyds Banking Group shares up 2%; US investment bank a fan Keefe Bruyette & Woods (KBW) remains a fan of Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LSE:LLOY) after taking a closer look at the business banking arm, which contributes about 15% of the group's earnings. This follows a seminar where Lloyds showcased its strategies for digitisation and diversification, drawing favourable comparisons to Barclays' offerings for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies. KBW noted that both Lloyds and Barclays PLC (LSE:BARC) are focusing on expanding their digital services, increasing loan offerings, and promoting other group products to business customers. Despite both banks pursuing similar strategies, KBW reckons Lloyds is currently in a stronger position and has good potential for growth. Overall, KBW remains positive about Lloyds, rating the shares as "outperform" with a target price of 65 pence. The investment bank considers the current valuation, with a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 7.9 times and a price-to-tangible-bo These metrics are used to assess a company's stock price relative to its earnings and book value, respectively. KBW believes these ratios are favourable, especially considering the bank's return on tangible equity (ROTE) objectives, which measure how effectively a bank uses its tangible assets to generate profits. Lloyds shares were up 2% at 55.86p. | ![]() freddie01

01/7/2024 12:57 | Stan, Scotland have been terrific. Its a great achievement that a nation like Scotland have qualified & even scored a couple of goals. If I were a sweaty id be over the moon, have the pannini sticker album and everything! For me Scotland have come to a bit of a cross roads they can either say 'right we've qualified and this world stage is where we want to be in future' OR they can say 'right let's berate England like the special needs country that we were prior to qualifying'. Choice is your Sam but know one in England is interested in anything you say because your basically just an expensive irrelevance. | utrickytrees
