"QE should be eroding the value of money fast as it should be creating inflation (more money chasing the same assets). But it isn't. Which is weird"

It is though...
See property prices - still rising!!
See other assets - Gold/Paintings/Wine

See "Shrinkflation"
The way inflation is hidden right in front of your eyes.
Small sizes but same price as before/slightly higher price.

"It was Maggie's foresight which forged our trajectory as a high end tech advanced manufacturer of cutting edge products and services."

Care to back that with decent argument and/or rationale? I bet you can't.

For every point you give me I'll give you three in return. ;)

Not completely mad dex. It is the velocity of money that drives inflation.

QE should be eroding the value of money fast as it should be creating inflation (more money chasing the same assets). But it isn't. Which is weird.

It is currently as though the government can create as much money as it wants without a corresponding negative effect. Most odd.

Pal - "Liza Trust .. err we live in hope lol"

She's actually proving to be a very positive politician. Yes, she looked a bit weird a couple of years back, but she's stayed on track.

How about that! The French come to the rescue!

It doesn't actually matter who blows up the "deal" so long as there is no "deal."

XXXXY that is why so many Remainers hate Trump. He's pro UK and Pro Brexit.

I'd vote for trump on his Brexit stance alone. Bidens detest UK,as do most Democrats.
Eg Pelosi.

Law and order though is as important.

Democrats win the WH only by postal vote cheating..and it's going to be large.

Worrying times for us all Chavi..
QE, value of money eroding fast, and the inevitable tax rises to come..

Fingers crossed we do not get a European banking crisis.

Any negative interest rates will be forgotten in a year or two when inflation takes off. Buffet's not into gold for fun, nor am I come to think of it...

A big day for the Department for International Trade today as Liz Truss signs the UK’s first trade deal as an independent country for decades. The Japan deal was agreed in principle over a month ago, however it was formally signed this morning at a ceremony in Tokyo.

Next stop: TPP membership, boosted by our new best friend Japan’s 2021 chairmanship…

SP over 60% down YTD. Mortgage market booming. Negative rates unlikely.

Any negatives are built in and then some.

Personally I reckon the share price will hit 40p soon enough as the fall was well overdone and driven down by massive shorting. Those shorts still need to close and have probably now started doing so...

Mike, don’t be fooled, this can and will turn very quickly. No doubting LTV has improved but this is being built on pillars of salt and sand.

Geck, read somewhere last week BoE said it would likely be QE instead of NI rates to help out.
Edit. Though with the money being thrown about that's already happening.

Lloyds do not have an investment banking arm pulling in the profit, unless you know something different?

------------------------------------

Or losses, but they do a hell of a lot of Mortgages and remortgages, and business is booming.
