Iran issues arrest warrant for Trump, asks Interpol to help. This would be similar to those CHAZ (CHOP) guys suing the police because they didn't help out when they needed them for protection

Brexit talks resume as Brussels prepares to table 'compromise' that senior MPs say is a non-starter. Meanwhile, City bosses call for cuts to red tape post-Brexit and Brexiteers to be recruited as 'metropolitan' Whitehall gets a huge shake-up.Brexit trade talks resume under newly agreed timetable as senior Tories warn against Brussels 'compromise': Brexit trade talks resume today and will include face-to-face meetings between David Frost and Michel Barnier as well as discussions on level-playing field provisions and governance. The first thing Barnier might do is congratulate Frost on his new job, as he will take over as National Security Advisor from Mark Sedwill in September. However, Barnier might not be so keen as the announcement of Frost's future position sets a hard deadline for trade talks and quashes any hopes in Brussels that they might be able to run the clock down as much as possible. Speaking after the news of his appointment, Mr Frost said he will 'of course remain Chief Negotiator for the EU talks and these will remain my top single priority until those negotiations have concluded, one way or another.'  As talks resume, Senior Tory MPs have urged UK negotiators to reject a Brexit 'compromise' expected to be tabled by Brussels this week that would see freedom from EU rules come at the price of higher tariffs. David Jones, the deputy chair of the European Research Group (ERG) of MPs, warned "We would certainly oppose such a suggestion.""The whole point is if we're tethered to their rules then we're inevitably tethered to the European Court of Justice and if that is the case then we can't be said to be an independent country. You can't be just a little bit independent. You're either independent or you're not. It's impossible; it's like being a little bit pregnant," he told the Telegraph. MPs have suggested that this 'compromise' is little more than control by other means and must, as David Frost has previously said, reject any idea that allows the EU to retaliate with tariffs if we chose to make laws suiting our own interests. Boris announces £1 billion school-building programme but vows to be careful with public finances: The Prime Minister will announce a £1 billion school-building programme today as he attempts to push forward with his political agenda that was interrupted by the coronavirus. The cash will pay for the first 50 projects of a ten year investment and will focus on schools in the worst condition as part of Boris' plans to 'level up' right across the UK. 'Substantial' sums will be promised for those in the North and Midlands.Speaking to the BBC, Boris Johnson did however say that "We will be very prudent, we'll be very careful with public finances," and that he wanted "businesses to be confident, to start investing, to start taking people back or start creating new jobs and driving new growth."City bosses call for cuts to red tape post-Brexit: As Boris plans to 'build, build, build' the way out of economic trouble brought about by the coronavirus, City bosses have urged the Chancellor to slash capital requirements and cut red tape after the transition period ends to deliver a multibillion-pound boost to the post-Covid economy. Traders welcomed the Government's decision to abandon the implementation of EU rules on securities trading which would have seen fines for failing to settle trade within Brussel's deadlines. The Treasury is carrying out a review to streamline and tailor financial services regulations after the transition period ends and these will be discussed in Brexit trade talks later this week. Whitehall shake-up incoming: Following on from the news that Mark Sedwill will be replaced by David Frost in September, the Telegraph are reporting that this is the beginning of a huge Whitehall shake-up that will see Brexiteers recruited and departments moved to regions of the UK. "All major Government departments are based in London... Westminster and Whitehall can become a looking-glass world, rooted in assumptions which are inescapably metropolitan," Michael Gove said in a major speech at the weekend. He also said that the civil service should represent the 'forgotten man' and not encourage people to switch roles to gain promotion rather than gain and develop expertise over time. Lords plan Huawei 5G block: Tory rebels in the House of Lords are hoping to amend a Government Bill in order to ban Huawei's involvement in Britain's 5G network. If the amendment passes it would create a human rights threshold for firms that bid for the right to supply equipment, causing massive implications for the Chinese firm's involvement. Although the amendment could be overturned in the Commons, a growing Tory MP rebellion means that would be unlikely. Sir Iain Duncan Smith urged all peers to back the amendment, saying "This amendment is needed because it's still not clear what the Government intends to do about Huawei."French fishermen not happy about losing lucrative access to British waters: Sky News have produced a video on the threats facing the French fishing industry, which bizarrely plays sad music over French fishermen claiming they fish 70% of the year in British waters and that a Brexit that sees Britain take back control of its waters would harm their industry. There is no such video to be found on how the Common Fisheries Policy has decimated the British fishing industry. US-China feud continues to escalate: The US and China are moving away from trade threats to exchanging regulatory punches as trade tensions continue to escalate. Recently the US has unveiled a list of Chinese companies that it says are owned or controlled by China's military, opening them up to increased scrutiny and laying the groundwork for further US sanctions. The two countries have blacklisted each other's companies and the unfolding skirmish is making them nervous about a shifting trading landscape, with tension only set to get worse as the US election draws nearer. On our site today: Today's article comes from director of think-tank 'The Red Cell' and Executive Director of Veterans for Britain, Dr Lee Rotherham. His article looks at the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy and warns of the push in Brussels for a Defence Union. Mike,

It's called shrinkflation. Price stays the same so official inflation never seems to budge much, but portion sizes shrink massively.

I haven't experienced the official rate of Inflation in decades!!! Probably because I don;t by a telly every other week!

Why are Remainers also so anti American?

We'd be stupid to allow Communist China a key part in any of our strategic assets but especially 5G and nuclear power.

Why does America have to tell its allies such. We should already know.

Communism is anathema to our our value system and way of life.

Iran issues arrest warrant for Trump, asks Interpol to help

LOL!

But at a lower and rather less ridiculous level, it shows what a good idea it is to get away from the European arrest warrant. Counties with weird ideas can issue warrants for things most of us wouldn't even regard as crimes.
