28/6/2020 09:35 | English tourists may face quarantine in Scotland if cases rise south of the border John Boothman Sunday June 28 2020, 12.01am, The Sunday Times English holiday-makers crossing the border into Scotland could be told to go into quarantine for two weeks or face a fine if cases of coronavirus rise again. On Friday Nicola Sturgeon said Scotland was edging towards “total elimination” of Covid-19 after no new deaths were recorded on a weekday for the first time since March. However, Scottish government sources say there is a fear that the progress in suppressing the virus could be undone when the tourism season begins next month, with an expected influx of visitors from England. Confirmed cases of Covid-19 continued to rise in England last week. The first minister warned of “devastating consequences” after the hot weather prompted thousands of people in England to flout lockdown rules to visit the south | maxk

27/6/2020 20:01 | Patrick Minford CBE Q: How will Brexit affect prices overall? A: "The moment we leave the EU, and leave the CAP and the customs union, prices fall on Day One by 8% and in the long run after that works its way through the economy. This is the case even though we assume that over the next decade EU protection would have fallen gradually to half its current level. It’s still 8% because it lowers prices in the non-traded sector." | stonedyou

27/6/2020 17:11 | Poik 8557 I am sorry if you have suffered a loss - sadly it is the end result. Respiratory failure resulted in many deaths being ascribed to C 19 - too easily phps. BUT we cannot be held under wraps any longer - we have no economy you can expect little of no welfare benefits should this continue. Those who smoked expect lung assistance at NHS cost - similarly liver disease - obese - 400 pkts of crisps a month - cant work - only the lager keeps me going. We cant expect! | jl5006

27/6/2020 16:55 | poikka A virus is s thing a doctor refers to when he cant identify a disease. Not just your GP but any knowledgeable doctor. Normal prescription - take paracetamol . There is no vaccine for a virus - since just changes its shape. Phs there is an addon to a persons feeble immune system - eg HIV drugs - just reduce but rarely cure - malaria - Trump drug - mitigates. Flu type virus happens every year and many infirm cases have flu indicated on DC. The numbers of deaths are of the order of 150k..200K. Normally lots of reasonably healthy pick up the virus and pee it away down the toilet. But those who cant deal with it succumb - and die. Nothing new this year - yet the media used this to political adv. I guess the normal numbers have ppeed it away down the toilet - and sewerage sample will have indicated many cases - but with no serious adverse effects. Sorry P - should u have any concerns - stay safe - whtever that means and dont dont go out. Pls let the sensible take the risk!!!!! | jl5006 |
