The USA alone will report half a million infected before the weekend ends.
The Worldometer site says that of all the resolved cases..
Thats all the people who are no longer infacted..21% of those cases were resolved by death!

Just reading German and French economies are on the cusp of historic recession it says. Says Germany's will shrink by 10% in 3 months to June.
None of what I'm reading sounds good for anyone economies for quite some time.
It leaves me to think there maybe a little surge in markets in next week or two when we seem to be free of this bug. then a big drop back

PO - "Poik, you are putting forward a single issue argument trying to appeal to people's emotions."

Dunno where you get that idea from, Pierre, just stating that if there were no lockdown, we'd be looking at millions of cases in this country with untold number of deaths. No emotions in it, just facts.

I fully appreciate the economic consequences, but there'd also be economic consequences resulting from the deaths of many, many key people.

I think we are overplaying this pandemic. Yes it is easy to get infected and yes it dose kill but if we can keep the death toll down to 20000 this would be a small percentage of the amount of deaths recorded in the UK of 600000 to 700000 last year. We should also take into account that many of the 20000 would have died from existing medical conditions this year anyway.

I am sure there will be a lot who disagree with me but just saying it as it is. And yes I am self Isolating as it is up to each of us not to become one of the statistics. We also have to take into account nature. A powerful uncontrollable force.

Human beings have been messing around for thousands of years trying to change the unavertable. We cannot win in the end. Nature will always come out on top. Life in the wild has a natural selection process where only the strongest survive. This is to unsure the species continue to remain healthy and strong. Maybe where humans are concerned nature is hitting back. Life goes on.

You could argue that people are doing more exercise and are eating much healthier since the lockdown / rationing began.

The easy option of phoning the takeaway has been removed for most and more and more are actually cooking their own food from fresh ingredients as opposed to buying cheap and nasty ready meals.

Couple that with people out walking and running who would usually drive or sit in watching sport etc and you can see a couple of positives coming out of this.
