They say the DOW has another 30% to drop yet. If that's accurate then lloy could be under 20p by then. I suppose it may be possible in a world where so many companies are quickly becoming junk status. We take for granted that there will always be water in the pipes ,electricity and internet . Couldn't happen could it ?

smarty, we went through this yesterday. Your emotional response causes more deaths. You have to be unemotional in analysis, otherwise emotional do-gooders end up mass murderers knocking 3 months of 70m people's lives.

There are plenty of other examples of emotional do gooders imposing millions of deaths on people.

The thing is, it does take a little bit of logical thought to understand what is written, unfortunately, you'll think I'm mad because you are incapable of logical thought and dominate by emotion.

"According to my accountant, if I buy 3 cars, 2 vans, go on a couple of trips, claim for my petrol, phones, insurance, MOT, tyres, work clothes, a few nice meals out.... I made £2k profit last year." Profit? Suggest changing your accountant! When you're self-employed (properly, not a company employee) a loss can be set against profit in the following year. Play your cards right and …

I would guess a few have a few £1000’s in cash under the stairs.
Trouble is no one wants cash now.

Yes Alp, instead of boringly stating 'quality of life' I like to use an analogue such as no bog roll to represent quality of life and leave others to extapolate. Most don't of course, and wonder why i go on about bog rolls.

Why don't you volunteer P.ole?..save the economy..like the Texan Governor
Where do you think the line should be drawn..?
Save only those who have more than a year to go?
5 years might justify the expense..no?..10 years?
How long of your miserable existence is there left on the clock
Heaven forbid you are on the expendable list

So if Guss’s wife is on £28k and his average employee on £10k that means he’s pulling £200k per year. The fat cat lifestyle hey.

Must be difficult having to watch over kids whilst they do distance learning provided by the Private School?

PO - you could add 'quality' of life. However to give people that quality of life it needs individual discipline (and common sense).

This morning the IHS Markit/CIPS UK Services PMI was revised lower to 34.5 in March 2020 from a preliminary estimate of 35.7, signalling the fastest downturn in service sector activity since the survey began in July 1996. New orders dropped at a record pace amid the Covid-19 pandemic, with new business from abroad falling even more due to international travel restrictions and widespread business closures across Europe.

The important key piece of information is the drop in business from abroad. A precursor of any abrupt end of the Transition period. See GBP move.

Ask some of these self employed if they were declaring their true income when the going was good to firm?...particularly those in the building trade...

'So how will the self employed pay the bills this month ? Anyone got any ideas ?'

Yes it has but it won't be for quite a while yet though; meantime

Think out of the box for a moment at the bigger picture , where will the true Covid-19 cost be ?

Covid-19 is having IMO another insidious effect , namely that :

Having a social underclass as many better off capitalist countries do

To service the better off's needs

Does not come without a price

That price is coming now worldwide it will be around 80 Trillion pounds before this xmas .
