What's the point in petty micro analysis of every bump in the road M2. If were all going to get out of this as nation we should blaming the Chinese & all the people in the middle east but NOT the government (Boris has been quite poorly btw).

Minnie,

Germany's population is 25% greater than ours. They have 2.5x more cases than does the UK - at present.

The number of deaths is meaningless as each country appears to account for their cause differently.

And, by the way, we have more beds and ventilators than needed - at present.

Do keep up.

max - don't try and deflect. It is a sad fact.

Try and admit sometimes when there are issues. Try it once. They won't stay under the carpet for ever.

Facts

If it was a war with Germany they would have claimed victory over us by now.

Germany’s virus response shines unforgiving light on Britain

Johnson’s shifting strategy has left UK behind on testing, critical care beds and ventilators

#260. while on the subject of honesty there should be some honesty regarding the Transition period. To say that it will be done within the next couple of months is totally unrealistic.
Much better to be honest and even say 'I don't know' rather than give the public what they want to hear to be later disappointed.
Doubters - just wait and see.

None of these posts on honesty belittle the difficulties. Just don't try and fool the masses. That will be short term.

Spoke to my daughter last night who recently returned from a years study in China. Deaths are muted to be 50x more than official figures (based on cremation casket usage). Wuhan crematorium certainly didn't hang about.

Starting the virus & covering up the numbers! China needs a complete overhaul if this is true?

I should have been at Aintree today, but will be having a little tickle on the virtual race which will be screened on ITV later with all profits going to the NHS.

Flexibility like if there's a thousand tons of spuds ready and no one to harvest them, then the fit, healthy and unemployed are given the opportunity for work experience.

As always, redwood is spot on.If the UK had the flexibility, low beaurocracy, willings to work hard and pull together, sense of achieving something, flexibility in everything and adaption to needs, care for others, and all in all the general current positive attitude which gets big hospitals built in weeks, then the UK could become wealthy beyond belief after covid.
