Yes ignoble I remember '74 very well. I'd sold Ernest Scragg (?Davis, remember him - Observer recommendation) which went bust, and bought EPC (English Property Corp.) which doubled in about 2 weeks.
The story was that several institution bosses had breakfast together and decided to all go on a buying spree and that was the end of a very savage bear market.
