Confirmed worldwide CV cases now one fourthousanths of the population. UK rate is double this. Confirmed cases lagging actual by some margin in reality. But statistically this seems low. For example.. if this warrants a 300bl stimulus here in the uk alone, we need to spend a little more on cancer, dementia and fusion reactor development around the world. Unlike cancer, without treatment this wont kill everyone it touches.

I can confirm that we flew into Heathrow on Friday morning and there were absolutely no additional checks (no checks) for medical conditions. When we arrived in South Africa 2 weeks prior everyone was been screened (infra-red and questioned). You would think that if the government wants to put everyone under house arrest that they would also try and close the front door

"Locking the elderly up for 4 months aint exactly Help The Aged."

12 weeks = circa 3 months.

4 months = circa 16 weeks.

There are already reports that choices are being made of who gets a ventilator in some UK hospitals. It's like being in a disaster movie"

It'll likely be

So, did you vote Remain or LEAVE.

Leave.

Oh no ventilator for you.

Elderly overwhelmingly voted LEAVE so they'll get over looked on the basis that the young have more to live for as well...

Dead on Pierre.

but what makes you think the powers that be are remotely interested in our welfare?

Locking the elderly up for 4 months aint exactly Help The Aged.

No this is TO BE SEEN TO BE DRACONIAN. to stop the markets sliding...then the French/Chinese/American miracle cures[which all exist right now] will be sanctioned and approved.

amen.

Yes 5x, some of the covid deaths today, not all, will be of people who'd otherwise kick le bouquet in 3 or 4 months, and have a zero or negative quality of life until then.

Some of the covid deaths in care homes will come as a relief to all concerned. It's an extremely sad fact on many levels.

Unfortunately, my unpalatable view i hold is that the measures being taken will save a few lives of those near the end of their live, and the cost will be more lives from the young fit and healthy from indirect consequtnial deaths.

It's ultimately a vary bad ageist policy which i doubt boris and his emergency decision group totally immersed in stopping the spread of the virus AT ANY COST, realise.

Nothing should ever be done in generale 'at any cost' You ALWAYS should know the cost is less than the benefits.

Not the case with covid imv.

Get it. Herd immunity. Because there is no way of avoiding it if you want to live a little.Longevity does not mean a better quality of life. Life should have depth and quality. Otherwise a living death.

Provide me with the data that links these suicides to climate change concerns.

What difference is it going to make now if we don't test the few non-freight flights that come into this country. We are well past that point now and it would be a complete waste of time considering most cities have now got thousands walking around breathing it over everyone.

When we do lock-down properly, when Boris actually believes in it, then afterwards it will be a case where in-bound flight checks are worth it again. At the moment it would be like trying to stem the tide with a bucket.

I'm pretty sure there will be a huge increase in suicides, murders and violent assaults, I've been pretty close to a couple of them myself in the past 48 hours !!
