RBS to go to Nat West, unfortunately forever associated with Godwin, likewise HBOS,tainted. "Scotland" once linked to success and prudent banking but no more.

I really feel compassion for Greece's present predicament: they're stuck with the burdening rules and directives from Brussels, but left to deal with a 'refugee' crisis made worse by the actions and inactions of their political masters in Brussels - madness.

Which just goes to demonstrate what a useless creation the EU has become.

Javid's pool of ex Hammond advisors was as leaky as a sieve, infuriated Boris so he axed the lot. Strong leadership.

Then you would never do anything! It can not be a strong view if you won't back it. QED.

Reality check:

R0 is not a fixed constant. R0 varies depending on many things.

It is probably best you catch it CtR then we can all stop worrying! LOL

Advisers shape your public persona and has certainly changed Javid's to phantom chancellor! He's resigned even before delivering a single budget, cabinet reshuffles also include advisers to meet new manifesto promises to the electorate! Javid saw the new agenda as weakening his position in the cabinet and quit. He should have stayed and hired a new team as required of him by No10 and argued his case from within like all previous chancellors have done.

edit...agree with Poikka, Sunak has big gun family background!

How is an expectation a truth? It may become so ...

Anyway, RBS results out. Link to (very short) summary below. Profits better than expected (by RBS!) Final divi of 3p and special of 5p. Lloyds take note, but don't go overboard!

Diku, I don't think that we're missing anything: Boris wants a different approach by having PM and Chancellor working together. New guy is, from what I read, not a push-over (one day his name will stick in my memory :) ). Even the BBC is struggling to fault him and his appointment.

£ seems ok with it - and so am I, which is most important.

latest is 8485 closed cases (cases which have had an outcome) 7101 recovered, 1384 deaths = 16.3% mortality rate, scary.

Don't know Diku but Javid a remainer at heart and the Treasury would have people there from Hammond's time. How many and how influential we can only guess at but Boris and Cummings have probably got a handle on it, hopefully.

BTW....no-one is calling him a clown or a buffoon any more lol.
