Sometimes things should be kept simple.

Public given the opportunity to vote on whether to leave the EU, or Remain.

Public voted to Leave - no talk of any deal.

So we should just leave and talk about a free trade agreement with the EU later, as they won't discuss it now, but everyone knows that after we leave they'll start talking properly.

Just hope that Boris and co. can wriggle around those MPs who now say that they're not going to abide by the Referendum result.

The rest is just a smoke screen.

More seriously, it is an international public relations disaster. BoJo speaks well if you like hot air. On today's performance I agree with grahamite that Gove was very strong but so was the Labour lady who summed up.

Boris is no leader.

I would put the little man in his place.

That makes how many times Boris has lost the votes; how many to zero? Lucky that he is not a football manager.

G2 - he could always resign on the spot to prove his point.

I hope Boris comes out aggressively on this and says, I'm not sending any letter. What are you gonna do about it then?

No need to rely on devious interpretation. Guns blazing, that's the way.

Like I say, only time will tell. Opinion is all over the place. Although I thought it likely Letwin’s amendment had a chance, I just wasn’t sure the Speaker would allow it for discussion before Parliament.

"Electorate will be full of despair at the prospect of more delay."

Not really.

Just the old farts with nothing else better to do in their lives.

Thanks mr.elbee I only sold all my LLOY and one other, but held other similar sector shares in my Portfolio, so in effect still retain a sizeable foot in the Market and I wouldn’t disagree with your 50/50 advice. It’s just that I consider sentiment in LLOY to be particularly vulnerable to the current developments evolving from Brexit debate.

Parliament is greater than government. Get used to it.
