The Scottish "nasty" party are the same people who give pensioners free travel, everyone free prescriptions, free meals for children at all schools and nurseries, and who have added a small increase in taxation to the highest earners while reducing it for the lowest earners.

And some of you English wonder why they're so popular North of the border ??

Not everyone wants independence, however what they DO crave is for a fairer society and one which includes being part of Europe as opposed to isolating ourselves and being at the mercy of a ruthless United States controlled by a megalomaniac and his self serving billionaire henchmen.............

I am no fan of Trump, think he is a disgrace to the USA. With regard to Farage, I am not a fan either. I voted Brexit because over many years I have watched the UK pay billions into Europe with very little to show for it.

The roads in Spain are better than we have, yep and we paid for them. Leaving Europe may be difficult but it will pay off as Europe will implode, the Euro is a failed experiment. The mighty Germany is failing and is in trouble, those who don't see it are blind. My reference to Spain's roads is what happens when you bleed prosperous countries to finance improvements to all those other little economies.

Farage has helped the UK to see it, Farage exposed the bureaucracy and hypocrisy.

We need to get out and forge our own future, our own deals, our own laws.

What do Conservative rank and file members think re Brexit

Eye opening.

YouGov survey found that 63% of members would be prepared to see Brexit take place even if it meant Scotland leaving the UK.

Some 61% would rather Brexit took place even if it caused "significant damage" to the economy

59% would prioritise leaving the EU even if it meant Northern Ireland breaking away from the rest of the UK

54% would accept the Tory party "being destroyed" in order to secure Brexit.


UK's time has come I suspect. It no longer serves a purpose, and both England & Scotland would be better off going their own way(as indeed we are on many fronts already)

They got so far because treason is no longer punishable by a capital offence. Nor, in fact, is it punishable. The Cambridge 5 were allowed to betray the nation(4 of them were widely known at the time, the 5th came to light some time later)

All of them should have been given a capital punishment including Blunt.

Rory seems ok but I would like to see him over longer period.
He talks good sense although his jury of citizens is a crazy idea.
A random group of people with a higher authority than parliament.
Ridiculous.

But Rory does represent the vast majority who want a soft Brexit or no Brexit.
The no deal Brexiteers are in a minority.

The referendum of 3 years ago was narrowly won by the leave vote, many of who were told a great deal was easy and that we could have our cake and eat it.

Rory Stewart is representing the majority in this leadership competition.

He will lose at the membership vote stage, because the Tory grass roots are just as crazy as Corbyns grass roots.
