Jeremy Hunt is head and shoulders above any other candidate and the most creditable person to lead the party in the next election and unite the country . Two Problems are:He won't get voted in by the one eyed membership.Even if he did the chance of negotiating a good deal with the EU are slim though he stands the best chance any of the candidates, and he will be lambasted by the right wing as remainer for anything short of a hard exit.

These people are sports studies woodentops ,with not many brains and even less courage.

I would not buy a car off any of them. Appalling third raters who are bribed with colosall amounts of licence fee payer's money to lie, lie and then lie.

Perhaps it's time to allow people to opt out of the Brussels Broadcasting Corps pay to view set-up.

If the BBC is so good, they will have no trouble selling subscriptions.

Alphorn,

"CtR - I was making a very simple point and that is that the large majority of UK immigration is non EU and are, and always have been, subject to Visas"

Nothing to do with the point I was making originally though.
And it's been fairly equal over the years until the recent drop off in EU migration of course.

"How those Visas are granted is purely down to UK administration and has nothing to do with Brussels"

Again how is this relevant???
Successive UK Govts chose not to police the NON EU side of the equation as they had no say over the EU side of the Equation. Given we havent left EU yet EU citizens can still come absent restrictions for the first three months.

"It is nothing to do with Brexit and it is only the media and some sectors of politics that continue to quote total numbers - because it suits their agendas"

Eh? Who said NON EU migration numbers did have anything to do with Brexit/EU or whatever? You're creating a strawman!

And it IS indeed total NET numbers that are important. My actual point.

It may well be in proportion context with the rest of the World against the EU...but on the ground it sure feels like more from the EU...

Personally I'd fold NI into Income tax...

That would have a massive redistributive effect from old to young (and from rentier class to wage slaves, too).

Can we assume everyone here would support it?

Why has no politician proposed it?

I've given you 5 examples of people on low salaries who have managed to buy their own properties.

All about "priorities"

And theirs, in the examples i gave you, were spot on. Hence they were rewarded!

So They can have the house sold to pay for their old age care, against one who spends and enjoys their care being paid by the state. Me a house holder not bitter much .. friend, three month long holidays a year blue badge holder who still goes pigeon shooting and trapping lives in rented social housing (reduced rent etc.) me bitter you bet I am.

ctr, sometimes, conversations for one reason or another aren't worth pursuing. I just hope you'll one day realise how disadvantaged kids today are relative to my generation and how that could lead to an unpleasant society in the future. But I won't hold my breath"

Pity we have been brain washed into thinking we have to have a c.... coffee.
No wonder they made advert to say you could pay off your mortgage earlier
if you have 5 less coffees a week.
Room for thought eh!People seem to part with their money far too easily today.
Thought Dominic Raab made a very good impression today.
