27/2/2019 22:17 | Lidington has obviously not read the posts on this thread: He also used his statement to stress his concerns about no deal. “There is no avoiding the fact that an abrupt departure from the European Union without an agreement of any kind would lead to a shock to our economy, and that it would not be possible for a government even with the most meticulous planning of arrangements in this country – to mitigate and plan entirely for what might be happening outwith our own jurisdiction,” | alphorn
27/2/2019 21:56 | We voted to get out of the EU...No conditions. Get on with it and stop trying to hoodwink the British people. | excell1
27/2/2019 21:33 | The PM must now break free from the enemies of Brexit, demands TIM NEWARK HAS our Parliament ever been so at odds with the people that vote for it than it has over Brexit? Yet again our Prime Minister has had to come before it offering all kinds of permutations to win their support when all the rest of the country wants is for them just to get on with it. Is it just me but I'm starting to lose the will to live as self-absorbed politicians strut across the parliamentary stage claiming they are following their own conscience and protecting us from the horrors of no-deal Brexit when it fact all they are doing is failing to represent the majority of voters who want out of the EU in whatever form it comes. Her latest list of options is not good news for Brexiteers. If her improved withdrawal agreement fails to gain their support on March 12, she is threatening them with a vote to take a default no-deal Brexit off the table. She will then request an extension to the Article 50 negotiation period. And that is a slippery slope to never ever leaving the EU. All this because a handful of her Remainer ministers are threatening to resign over a no-deal Brexit. Theresa May has long made a strategic error by trying to get a balanced, compromised Brexit that she think will suit everyone. Instead, she has pleased no one and contributed to a deadlock that can never be resolved in favour of Leave because two-thirds of MPs are Remainers. She needed to be bolder, back the winners in the referendum and get the machinery of government to promote the potential of Brexit. Instead, dire predictions by governmental departments have been deployed to create hysteria over a no-deal simply in order to intimidate Brexiteers in to supporting her lacklustre deal. I've started to keep a file of the most ludicrous newspaper headlines supposedly scaring us into changing our minds and begging to remain in the EU. "Brexit plan to evacuate the Queen," said one about civil service concerns over post-Brexit riots, while another claimed: "Officials warn of putrefying piles of rubbish after no-deal Brexit." That was a knock-out of a story telling us that a backlog of livestock on farms could lead to liquid manure stores overflowing. An Environment Agency source said: "It could all get very ugly, very quickly." Just this weekend, a normally sensible newspaper reported that "Whitehall fears 'piles of bodies' at ports if no deal." And zombies will rise up and stalk the streets. This government-sponsored fearmongering has clearly blown up in Theresa May's face as emboldened Remainers are now using fear of no-deal to block Brexit all together. If this process culminates in a delay to Brexit on March 29, Parliament will have broken trust with the British people. A majority of politicians are now clearly at odds with the people they are supposed to represent. Their dithering and prevaricating are risking a real economic crisis in the UK as continued delay will only worsen business uncertainty and discourage investment at home and from abroad. By doing this the falsely projected economic crisis of no deal will, in fact, become a real one thanks to their failure to put the good of this country above their own ideological beliefs. | stonedyou

27/2/2019 20:27 | And there is Dutch bulbs to think about Dutch Tulips REALLY THINK HARD BEFORE BUYING ANYTHING from EUSSR Spanish holiday. Irish holiday. French wine. Belgian chocolate. Think. Etc The People, at least 17 million can act as well as Parliament. People. Gloves off. Time to BOYCOTT the EU. The Elite have crushed and twisted and swindled our Democracy. But the People have teeth too and it is time to bare them, This Withdrawal Agreement cobbled together by May and a two-faced Conservative Party is trying to fob off the The Referendum Result and sell this 'agreement'. But in effect it is REMAIN all dressed up in new clothing and method. This will never be harmonious, and now may be the time to consider various campaigns such as whether to buy German cars for example. 17 million voted against staying in the EU. That is a lot of buying power. Think before buy now. Campaign. The politicians have not listened. The Economic War. THE PEOPLE RULE OK! German cars and apes German cars unfinished business And there is the consideration of Continental European wine. Many fine and exciting wines found outside Europe. The EUSSR has stated publicly it wants to HURT the UK. We can HURT the EUSSR too, particularly Germany and Vichy France. Spanish holiday. Irish holiday. French wine. Belgian chocolate. Think. The People can vote and not be listened to. BUT THE PEOPLE CAN ACT . Think before buying from the EUSSR Pass it on. BOYCOTT the EUSSR. Pass it on. | xxxxxy |
