06/12/2018 12:47 | As I understand it, PC, she cannot call it off by herself. The date was voted on by the HoC and can be changed ONLY by another formal vote, therefore. That isn't going to happen, of course - the majority view is to vote her WA down asap. | ![]() polar fox
06/12/2018 12:37 | Confirms what she told R4 this morning. | ![]() patientcapital
06/12/2018 12:33 | No.10 has confirmed to the BBC that the vote will still go ahead next Tuesday, despite all the begging for her to call it off. | ![]() polar fox
06/12/2018 12:24 | The British benchmark was down 2.35% at 11:24 am CET after erasing all gains since the end of 1999. The DAX fell 2.29%. In Paris, the CAC 40 showed a decline of 2.31%. Earlier it touched the weakest point in more than 19 months. The Italian FTSE MIB was 2.39% in the hole, not so far above its own two-year low. (fake news??) | ![]() smartypants
06/12/2018 12:21 | Alp...are you buying domestics aka banks?... | ![]() diku
06/12/2018 12:17 | Forex markets supporting sterling today - what do they know? Waiting for some tangible information I imagine. | ![]() alphorn
06/12/2018 12:15 | Trumps policies were all short term boosts to the wealthy, unfortunately there's always a payback when you go down that road......... | ![]() ladeside
06/12/2018 12:15 | Suella Braverman has ALSO just dismissed the mad woman's idea of Parliament controlling the backstop. Says "it's a red herring". Thank heavens the no voters aren't being fooled. | ![]() polar fox
06/12/2018 12:10 | Meanwhile LLPE remains steady and a 6% yield. | ![]() alphorn
06/12/2018 12:05 | With the share price still sliding, watch 54.29, yesterday's low. If it is taken out, that will leave only last month's low at 54.08 as the break point for even lower, towards 52/50p. She has to go. | ![]() polar fox
06/12/2018 11:56 | Who should replace May: a wooden statue would be better! At least it would keep quiet. | ![]() m4rtinu
06/12/2018 11:52 | dow futures down over 400 points, ftse100 falling again. We shall soon have to grow up, if the World financial system is failing, Brexi will become a trivial sideshow. | ![]() careful
06/12/2018 11:46 | Poika - the basic disagreement is whether ANY deal will benefit the UK. | ![]() alphorn
06/12/2018 11:41 | Feel the need to respond to Minnie. If it were not for the "hard nut Brexiteers", we'd never even get to a position of being able to negotiate a deal; unfortunately, this disaster of a PM has thrown away the negotiating hand of a "hard Brexit". | ![]() poikka
06/12/2018 11:37 | well well polar do I detect a desire on your part to circumvent parliament? Adolf managed to do it and take control, he was popular with the masses. Guy Fawkes tried it, it was early November I recall. ..and now IDS. | ![]() careful
06/12/2018 11:35 | I don't believe in a second referendum. It resolves nothing. One side will be significant losers and with the country so split it needs a compromise of some sort whether people like it or not. Time for maturity and compromise. Hard Brexit nutters need to be eliminated out of the equation. | minerve
06/12/2018 11:34 | Hear, hear. | ![]() grahamite2
06/12/2018 11:32 | Quite rightly, IDS has just dismissed the duplicitous woman's idea of Parliament calling the shots on the backstop, live on 231. She needs to quit and go on a long cruise with her twit of a husband. Her behaviour is beyond unacceptable. | ![]() polar fox
06/12/2018 11:26 | If there is a second referendum there would be a huge turnout. A decent 72% last time but I would guess we could top 80% next time. When it happens I hope the questions are clear and that the result is decisive. It is the only way out now. The last referendum succeeded in getting 39% of eligible voters to vote leave. I would like to see a much wider margin next time. | ![]() careful
06/12/2018 11:25 | "chimpfinder" It isn't difficult to find chimps, you don't have to travel to sub-Saharan Africa. Just turn-up at Dover and anyone can point you in the right direction. | minerve
06/12/2018 11:23 | You really couldn't make this up. The Brexiteers continue to give the public the impression that in a Treaty between two parties over their mutual land border, if one is the UK, it alone calls the shots over whether it reneges, changes its provisions, etc etc. and if it can't do this, it will throw its toys out of the pram and refuse to agree anything. That says it all about our politicians and our media commentators. | ![]() rburtn |
