26/6/2024 11:36 | careful.....I would not say that a document drawn up by the United Nations in consultation with the relevant parties, who all agreed with the purpose and objective of the document and then signing and ratifying it, was a self serving document. | hardup1
26/6/2024 11:35 | Not to mention David Kelly, the UK's chief weapons inspector. He committed suicide the day before his daughter's wedding with a small knife, his slit his wrists, apparently under the stress of deliberating his findings...yeah right. Those that knew him claimed he was emotionally stable and the last person to kill himself. All evidence regarding his death is 'top secret' and withheld from investigative public scrutiny for 70 years...funny that. Yep, all those involved be long dead and can't be prosecuted. He was murdered to keep his mouth shut. | jordaggy
26/6/2024 09:54 | hardup1 Pretty sure Donbass is one of the regions where Russians are in the majority and Zelensky's regime was bombarding them 24/7 before Putin invaded. Agree with jordaggy. What most dont realise is Putin is a moderate, what follows him is truly frightening. Not long now till a nuke of some sort is detonated imo. | geckotheglorious
26/6/2024 09:53 | careful......"You cannot invade your own territory, and here lies the debate." Ukraine was not Russian territory. It became independent in 1991. Russia signed the UN 1994 Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances 1994, with Russia, the US, UK, and Ukraine recognising this and guaranteeing Ukraine's Sovereignty and Security and "reaffirming their obligation to refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine, and that none of their weapons will ever be used against Ukraine except in self-defence or otherwise in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations." Refer to my post 395200 yesterday. | hardup1

26/6/2024 09:16 | Donbass region is civilian. Those that died were innocent. | jordaggy
26/6/2024 09:13 | Love the word 'illegal' Putin considers it to be a region of Russia as it always was. Part of the Russian Empire pre revolution, part of the USSR post revolution. Lots of independent devolved powers, one Russian President even attached the Crimea to Ukraine in about 1990. About the status a boundary change in our terms. The Russian President was Brezhnev, a Ukrainian himself, no doubt looking after his own. For years, we all assumed Ukraine was part of Russia, a region of a vast Empire. Indeed it was, but with its own traditions and culture. Hence Putins term 'special operation' and not invasion. We may laugh, but can say the British army 'invade' Northern Ireland at the time of the troubles, or are they occupying to keep laws and order? You cannot invade your own territory, and here lies the debate. When Zelenski announced his intention to join American led Nato, was that not a step too far. Devoluted power and autonomy is one thing, buy if Mexico a democratically elected government, invited The Chinese Navy into the gulf of Mexico in exchange for massive inward investment, would America allow it? A peace deal will be reached with a pledge from Ukraine that it will not join Nato, and give back control of Donbass and Crimea to Russia with certain trade agreements. Russia will be 'taking back control'. | careful
26/6/2024 08:42 | jordaggy.....correct me if I am wrong but isn't the Donbass region one of the area's of Ukraine that has been illegally invaded and occupied by Russia? You say Putin is regarded by many as a moderate and a genius? Strange one that given the ICC has issued a warrant for his arrest for war crimes. | hardup1
26/6/2024 08:29 | America bomb people who cant bomb them back. That is an historical fact. They flattened Japan, most of Germany, Vietnam...that is what they do. Get over it, Curtis E LeMay was a national hero, he wanted to use Nukes in Vietnam to 'bomb them back into the Stone Age'. He was head of Strategic Air Command SAC. As mad as a box of frogs, as nutty as fruit cake. | careful
26/6/2024 08:03 | jordaggy.....I guess you would nominate Putin for the Nobel Peace Prize. | hardup1
