How quickly things change.

All of a sudden we are about to have a new US President who is proud of his Irish Catholic heritage.
That usually means he holds the United Ireland dream, with no occupying or controlling UK influence.
An embarrassing history.

Biden is also pro EU. and will make efforts to strike a new and better relationship with the EU. unlike the hostile Trump.
This has changed the landscape for Boris Johnson and his post Brexit plans.

Just out of curiosity, who is running America at the moment?
Is Trump still in charge?

In my view the EU will not be able to comprehend the new landscape CP. The shift that Boris has promised will be too much of a climb down, they will appear weak & compromised so cannot persue a deal at any cost. I genuinely think it would be better for both sides to break clean then look to build mutually beneficial ties on a more targeted basis. That way theres no fudge & no compromise.

From 5x's post #322354

The Prime Minister has repeatedly said he is “absolutely committed” to a deal but not at any price, adding: “It’s about making sure that the UK is able to run its own laws, its own fisheries and so on. That fundamentally is what it’s all about.” So if it’s a really bad deal, it is probably safe to assume, it’s a no deal.

He's supposed to be dead in a ditch as well, but he's not, so I think it's probably safe to assume Doris's word is worth the air expended on it's utterance and no more.

Farage is saying nothing but he is watching. He is a political giant who has achieved more than those since Thatcher put together through his raw courage standing in the nest of vipers in Brussels.
If Boris sells out on Brexit, he and Tories are finished. Allowing talks to draw out is playing EU game and one they're practised in the art of.....dangerous.

Walk away...no deal.

There will be no vaccine against the ire of Red Wall Tories if they sense a  'sell-out' to BrusselsVoters who switched to the Conservatives will take revenge at the polls if the PM reneges on his 2019 manifesto pledge to "get Brexit done"ByCamilla Tominey, ASSOCIATE EDITOR3 December 2020 • 7:00pmAs a Brexit deal approaches, Boris Johnson would be wise not to mistake the Covid-19 cavalry for his own political salvation. The approval of the Pfizer vaccine certainly heralds a potential new dawn for the Prime Minister's pandemic-plagued administration in the New Year. However, if he thinks he can ride out presenting Parliament (and indeed the public) with a Brexit fudge before the transition period ends on December 31, then the latest polling strongly suggests otherwise.Downing Street may have been tempted to think that an electorate distracted by coronavirus couldn't care less what sort of agreement is hammered out with Michel Barnier and co, come Christmas.Yet, a survey by the think Centre for Brexit Policy this week found 'Red Wall' Tory voters plan to take their revenge at the ballot box if Mr Johnson reneges on his 2016 referendum promise to "take back control" and his 2019 manifesto pledge to "get Brexit done".Of those who switched from Labour to the Conservatives last December, 55 per cent said they would be less likely to back the Conservatives at the next general election if there is any sense of a "sell-out" to Brussels. On the supremacy of the British Parliament and courts, control of UK fishing waters, power over UK trade tariffs, the threat of future UK cash payments to Brussels, and the right to strike trade deals across the world, voters living in key battleground areas in the North and the Midlands are adamant there must be no backsliding in the final round of UK-EU talks now at the eleventh hour. They would rather no deal than a dodgy one, so much so in fact that they would be more likely to vote Conservative again if we left on World Trade Association (WTA) terms. The Prime Minister has repeatedly said he is "absolutely committed" to a deal but not at any price, adding: "It's about making sure that the UK is able to run its own laws, its own fisheries and so on. That fundamentally is what it's all about." So if it's a really bad deal, it is probably safe to assume, it's a no deal. .. Full article... Daily Telegraph

Blackmail and disaster, the end of the world, you name it for their opposition, thats their tactics... expecting people to take the streets in support.
We know them by now. Just a few ignorant remainers who still listen to BBC is the main problem.

This is so typical of Brussels: they just love playing games with any negotiations; they draw them out while feeling so fuggin important and while having dinners galore at EU citizens expense.
