Betting odd's are not a reliable indicator.

They are simply a way of bookies making sure they dont lose whatever the result.

Donald Trump’s odds vs. Joe Biden slump after overnight surge

By Todd Dewey Las Vegas Review-Journal
November 3, 2020 - 12:00 pm

Donald Trump gained ground on Joe Biden overnight in U.S. election betting odds at United Kingdom-based Betfair Exchange.

But, by late Tuesday morning, the former vice president’s odds had soared higher than they were before the president’s surge.

Betfair, which had taken more than $425 million in wagers on the U.S. presidential election as of 11:30 a.m. PT Tuesday, reported at 1:30 a.m. that Trump’s odds had improved from +188 to +160 heading into Election Day, while Biden’s odds had dipped from -187 to -160.
Ten hours later, Trump’s odds had moved to +225 and Biden to -225 at Betfair.

Betting favorites are expressed with a minus sign and underdogs with a plus sign. In this case, a bettor would have to wager $227 to win $100 on Biden or $100 to win $225 on Trump.

“The initial boost that Donald Trump received overnight has disappeared, and his odds have slumped to (+225), his worst chances since early October,” Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said in an email. “At (-225), Biden is closing in on his best position yet, and it’s clear with hours until the polls close there has never been more confidence in a Democrat victory.”

More than $75 million has been wagered on Betfair since Monday morning.

Problem for a Tory Govt though 1carus is the over 70s are their core support, they have tried to conserve their earnings and wealth instead of wasting it. They can hardly turn round and say you've worked hard and saved all your lives and then throw them under the COVID bus.

My point about the old people was about locking down the young and able really won't solve anything unless the people it is meant to protect take some responsibility. The problem is the older generation that are quite fit. It is not clearly understood why age itself makes us more susceptible to disease and longer to recover, but it means that a seemingly fit 80 year old can be made dangerously ill by something that a 40 year old might shrug off. The old an infirm are probably shielding and their families are rightly trying to protect them, but the seemingly fit ones are not, and I see that again and again. There would be no deaths/cases if they were isolated so the cases and deaths are because their exposure rates are too high. If their sentiment is, we only have a few years left and if they are willing to take the risk that is up to them, but not at the current price to the economy, education, mental health etc. The focus needs to change. The government message should be target at the largest affected group.. the over 70's.. that's over 90% of the problem.. and the current thinking clearly isn't fixing anything.

'WE GOT THE WRONG ONE' Joe Biden appears to confuse his granddaughter with his dead son Beau Biden in incredibly awkward Election Day gaffe

JOE Biden confused his granddaughter with his dead son Beau Biden in an incredibly awkward gaffe on Tuesday.

The Democrat was speaking to supporters in Philadelphia on Election Day when he made the mistake.

ntroducing fans to his family, he put his arm around his granddaughter's shoulder saying "this is my son, Beau Biden who a lot of you helped elect to the Senate in Delaware."

He then said "this is my granddaughter, Natalie" before noticing his mistake and saying "no wait, we got the wrong one."

Biden then puts his arm around his granddaughter's shoulder and says "this is Natalie, this is Beau's daughter" before embracing "Beau's number two" his granddaughter Finnegan.

The mistake is Biden's most recent gaffe, coming days after making several over the weekend.
