Not really socialism though is it, certainly not in Lloyd's case, more of a bridging loan really. Which contributed to the exchequer at the end of the day thanks to Capitalism.

John Redwood@johnredwood2hThe U.K. should not surrender our fish or our law making powers. Leave the talks as promised if the EU still doesn't agree a Free Trade Agreement. We trade well with the USA without an Agreement so FTAs are not essential.

I'm actually not a socialist. I'm just not a stupid enough capitalist to believe capitalism can exist without injections of socialism.

"socialism doesn't work"

It works because it saved capitalism from death in 2008!

There are no countries within UK. Scotland and the others, exempt Ireland, are regions not countries.

The goal posts tend to move from inflation to jobs growth...and if jobs market is weak rates will stay low...

Rates changes don't exist to keep the housing market going.
The BoE's remit is to keep inflation around 2%.

Total borrowing is equivalent to £2,776 per person in Scotland, compared to £855 per person across the UK as a whole.

In gratitude for what geck.

Acting like a colonial power does not win many friends .

Best to part our ways as England is Going on inward journey at the moment .

I wish England all the best in the path they choose, looking from afar and visiting over the last few years , the challenges it faces are many.
Still could not believe how lawless Leicester was on my last visit. The lakes in comparison is beautiful so not all lost .

Funny those who complain of anti English comments , regularly post anti Scottish statements . I guess there is morons on each side.

Agreed.

That's why I'd cut the Sweaties loose. Sick of the anti Englishness and ingratitude.

Its inverse slavery. Hardworking UK tax payers grafting tooth & nail to keep the pie eaters North of the border in free methadone & subsidised travel over bridges. It's a disgrace.

"It is our problem. They are Family. Not just United Kingdom. We are married to each other"

Given the constant anti English bashing that comes from Scotland they're hardly family, and I wouldn't lose any sleep if we cut them loose. It's what they want so fine.

But in similar fashion the Shetlands and Orkneys must also get referenda on Independence from UK / Independence from Scotland....
