Either the commentator at Bloomberg is thick as, or they're deliberately being dishonest.

"The U.S. has reported more than 5.4 million cases, nearly triple the 1.9 million reported for Europe as a whole. And given that the U.S. has a population one-third smaller than Europe, the only way those figures could be flattering is if Trump is right that the U.S. really has the best testing in the world.

Another key leading indicator that’s blinking red for the U.S. is the daily caseload over the past 30 days, which has remained over 45,000 and one day reached a record 77,000. Meanwhile, Europe has plodded along at an average rate of about 8,800"

There reason is clear

Obesity.
There are way more fatties in US than in Europe.

Has loganair been patiently working his way through 300,000+ posts in search of the key piece of information about Lloyds not to be found anywhere else?

I think this is one of the most wanting of threads on the whole of ADVFN as most of the posts have absolutely nothing do to with Lloyds and very, little information concerning Lloyds is ever posted which is what I believe these threads are for - information about the said company to engender discussion by other posters about the said company.

Graham,
Post 312592

Nah...A whitewash that bad would see civil war in my view. Democrats were wailing like pansies in 2016 when Killary lost. Imagine such a humiliation.

Anti Trumpers seem oblivious to such Graham.
Yet they profess to have extensive knowledge about US politics..

Doncha Goldfinger.

p.s Biden is become more senile by the day. Perhaps he'll forget HIS Ukrainegate criminality and his propensity to touching young women inappropriately whilst sniffing their hair?????

Availability of credit(ie debt) and leases makes a BMW or Mercedes available to nearly everybody!

Debt.

Hardly something to write home about frankly.

We've had plenty of inflation, but certainly not wage/household income inflation..

Re. wage and household income inflation - depends what timescale you look at e.g. not that long ago a BMW or Mercedes was out of reach for most people as were regular trips abroad and cruises.

Still feeling confident anti Trumpers?

"“Biden leads President Donald Trump by just four points nationally — 50 percent to 46 percent — and by even less across 15 battleground states that will determine who wins the electoral college,” reports Breitbart.

“In those 15 states — Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin — the new CNN poll has Biden leading by just one percent, with Biden at 49 and Trump at 48.”

The poll indicates that the riots have not only convinced many independents and moderates to vote for Trump, but that the unrest has also hardened support amongst Trump’s base"

Chavi,

The 2% target is for inflation. The BoE's target is to maintain 2% CPI.

If the CPI is 1% above OR 1% BELOW target then the BoE are required to write a letter to the Chancellor explaining why.

So the BoE should be adjusting interest rates either way to keep inflation target at 2%.

However, as we've in exceptional circumstances the inflation rate target of 2% is secondary consideration.

What your saying Daddy W makes sense, low interest rates makes the borrowing more manageable. BUT, the BoE is independent of the gov and if they see inflation taking off they will probably feel obliged to lift rates.
On thinking about it I'm not sure now if the 2% target was for interest rates or inflation. I will stand correction on my earlier call of inflation.
