It's not just the yanks, the other 5-eyes players are also against China's involvement. To the point of saying if you carry on, it will four eyes from now on.

David James 18 Jun 2020 6:33PMThe French have just threatened the UK with 'more illegals across the Channel UNLESS the UK agree to EU trade demands'.  They have threatened to 'ram and burn UK boats', and also to blockade ports. The EU acts like the Mafia.  Threatening the UK and your biggest customer is an error.  There is no trade off on fish and City access.  The UK own both.  The EU want access to both. The EU need to make a very attractive offers to induce the Uk to do a deal.  The EU, and France, long ago burnt any goodwill.  The UK may well decide an EU deal is too much trouble.  It may effect the UK ability to do FTAs around the globe.  It may tie the Uk into unfair EU terms. The UK need to rebuild the UK fishing industry after years of devastation by the EU.   The EU steals some 800,000 tons of Uk fish a year, and charges the Uk £6 Bn to buy it back!  Imagine how much difference the successful use of UK natural marine resources would make to the UK.  A revived UK fishing industry could employ over 100,000 jobs and support millions along the UK coastal economies.  Boris really has a one time golden opportunity to regain ownership of UK fishing waters.  He can reclaim a UK industry ruined by the EU, and revive it and UK coastal communities to become thriving regions.  He has no choice.  If not the Tories will be out in the 2024 GE.

America losing the battle of 5G. Country after country, from Germany to Brazil and so on ignoring America and do what is good for them.

Why not? You could give it a try, at least!

I have corrected my clumsy error.

I meant that we are being made to strip out Chinese 5g involvement as selected by BT and VOD and cleared by out own security people and accepted by our government.
America has threatened our membership of the 5 eyes security network unless we strip out 5g.

I hate this sort of thing. Rightly or wrongly the decision has been made by the UK, an independent democratic state.
Being effectively ordered to change the decision by America makes me angry.

I was hoping post Brexit that we would be able to do business with whoever we wanted to.
And strike trade deals with anyone.

America says no.
You will support us and obey orders or else.

As a remainer, and let us remainers be honest, the EU. is a shambles right now, I always thought the big decision was whether to have a big influence on the EU. (with the veto system ensuring that we could block anything we hated.) and to have our traditional close ties to America....or become a junior partner to America forever, stripped of any real influence.

One of the worst death tolls in the world from COVID and Boris is "doing well".
One of the worst economic fall-outs in the world from COVID and Boris is "doing well".
Boris catches COVID going against his own advice but Boris is STILL "doing well".
Government advisors and Joe Public doing what they want and disregarding government advice and Boris is STILL "doing well".
£ is the worst performing major currency of late and Boris is STILL "doing well".

My god, I'd hate to think what life would be like if he was doing badly.

Thank goodness he is "doing well"!

ROFLMAO!

More worried about American bullying post Brexit.

Chinese 5g involvement.
Digital tax.
Good to see the French are going ahead with a digital tax.

The big fang companies are making fortunes, destroying our companies but refusing to pay any tax.

We are all cheering the French on.
Standing alone as we did in WW2.

That is because we dare not stand up to the USA post Brexit.
We have lost our independence.

BT/VOD will be made to strip out Chinese 5g at great cost, and there will be no digital tax I would guess.

Humiliating.

I have a feeling Alp has a superiority complex, always bragging about how his success in the markets etc. is better than other posters. How would anyone be so bold?
He's like the broken cuckoo clocks that probably adorn his Swiss hovel, forever popping in and out at the wrong time.

Maybe he should be running our government! Oh! maybe not WW3 would be imminent.

Are you listening Mr Barnier? Gove issues EU warning with new Brexit deal deadline

THE EU has been issued a severe Brexit warning by Michael Gove after the Cabinet Office Minister revealed the cut-off date to reach a free trade agreement with Brussels.

Commenting on negotiations on Thursday, Mr Gove stated it would be difficult to

agree a free trade deal by the end of the year unless a broad agreement is reached

by October. Both sides have been locked in negotiations but so far no substantive

progress has been made on a free trade deal. Mr Gove said: "If we haven't secured

significant progress by October, then it will be difficult."
