Have you talked to Uber drivers?

In any event Uber does not cover all non fixed salary employees as no doubt you know.

diku - UK employment contracts are already almost a contradiction of terms (eg zero hour etc). I sincerely hope that they will not get watered down any further. It will be even closer to modern slave labour. That should not happen to anyone.

A viable business is one that that has orders which match its budget and costs that are commensurate with budget and has suppliers that will provide at the order price and overheads are included and yields a profit.

5006, like said VIABLE business, we all know some were on the way out before this and you can't save the un saveable. Like our friend said there has to be some quality control. But making the viable take high interest loans is in my view a no no.

Of course supermarkets get goods cheaper, bulk buyers. But is that reason to get in first, strip the selves and then flog the stuff at gross inflated prices to the locals who cant get the stuff. You sound bright enough so I dont think you are missing the point.

chav dont pay the price if you think excessive.

A lot of products at the supermarket have a gp over 50%. Indeed, it used to be cheaper to buy some items from the supermarket than the trade suppliers.

Then you have business rates, rent, staff, yourself, accountant, utilities, to live on.

What ever bought at wholesale (or supermarket if cheaer) you generally need to add at least 50% on the price to break even.

dont expect cheap loans for businesses on the edge
And chav - please understand that cash and Carry prices are higher than supermarket prices - so who is ripping off who.
Use the convenience store or not.
U ever tried running a corner shop? Full of grief - but why u close at 10pm - not a career move!

5.006, no I'm no snowflake. Corner stores isn't a supermarket but I know as most some owners were going to supermarkets and stipping the shelves leaving nothing for others and then selling the stuff at inflated prices in their shop. Many wont get any business when this is done. Folk round here mark their cards for them. We ain't southerners who just pay and forget.

A lot of opportunities on the way to buy and sell at different share price levels.. It's not going to be a straight forward.. bankrupt business, housing prices and unemployment will slow the recovery.
