31/3/2020 09:51 | Mitchy Nice one. There are some positives for those who want to look. I learned a lesson for life many many years ago. I was in the scouts and had gone on the annual camp. The weather was shocking. One lad kept standing around saying how cold and wet it was - of which we were only too well aware. Another lad continually had us in stitches. Needless to say who was most popular. I still see him on and off. One of his favourite saying is 'who cares whether my glass is half empty or half full. I can still fit more in.' I suspect yours will always be half empty smartie | scruff1

31/3/2020 09:42 | Of course pollution is down, for obvious reasons. The country as a whole is going in the same direction. But, it looks like at least one politician gets it. Politics latest news: Cure for coronavirus could be 'more harmful' than pandemic, Grant Shapps says as he warns against crashing UK economy Harry Yorke, political correspondent 31 MARCH 2020 • 9:09AM The 'cure' for coronavirus could "more harmful" than the pandemic itself, a Cabinet minister has suggested, as he warned that sending all workers home risked crashing the economy. Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary, defended the Government's approach to the lockdown, insisting there was a need for some people to continue travelling to work. Labour and other opposition parties have called for stricter guidance to prevent non-essential workers from continuing to work as normal, amid fears it is undermining efforts to suppress the spread of the disease. But this morning Mr Shapps said ministers had to be "careful not to completely crash the economy," warning that it could be "impossible or very difficult to pick up again afterwards."... | maxk

31/3/2020 09:16 | I think we're at a point now where Armagdeddon has been priced in. A few signs that we could get through this relatively unscathed and it'll quickly nudge upwards. The desperation of the shorters is becoming increasingly tragic to witness. Banging on about vaccine trials giving people cancer? Shameful, really. Isn't it? | fovargue
