diku - there must be some fee (paid by the state?) and rate support (???). However the loan itself must impact bank liquidity which IMO must be negative for banks.

Alp...it all depends on how the banks have negotiated with the Gov with these loans...what is in it for the banks?...

Looks like the Money men are going for parity between the GBP and the Euro.

diku - you could add - just how long will it take to approve any new loan?

Someone answered on another thread to my question in that the banks will probably be able to classify these guaranteed loans as sovereign debt. However, IMO it could put future dividends under scrutiny. It just needs one to cut the dividends for coronavirus reasons and other companies will all follow suit.

Yeah sure, shorting is good!

So says everyone ultimately relying on those who profit massively from shorting on a vast scale.

Transfers money from pleb investors supporting companies to the multi-billion outfits destroying companies who effectively, with a bit of tailwind like covid, control even ftse company prices (by selling and shorting together).

So if the banks lend money to businesses that are going through hardship then those loans are underwritten by the Gov?...so is it banks don't lose out?...but if there are no customers how do businesses pay the loans...who makes all the decisions on loan approvals...

I've not seen any ramping, most on this thread are far too sensible to think PI buying would move an share price

However there is the odd dope that steps in with Negative comments in the vain hope PI selling will drive the share price even lower.

Pierre makes a good point - "Where does £300 billion come from?"

I wrote on a couple of threads last night that it appeared to be mostly in guarantees; little cash which would have to come from the banks.

A novel form of alchemy.

The markets are not being fooled this morning.

Measures announced yesterday should in time help the markets. Suspect we should find a level soon. Added a few more early doors to the bottom draw. See that there was an article yesterday ... think it was on proactive investor... that stated that LLOY Cap Ex on systems upgrade was being tweaked to match the circumstances so more cash was available for the business. I am more confident that the gov are doing enough to date. More to do, but we should pull through. Keep healthy all..
