However the amount of people focusing on the worst case scenario on ADVFN is ....predictable.

Just as over the past three years most have focused on how wonderful the UK will be alone!

Truly the herd mentality. Lol

European regulators moved to rein in short-selling, ordering hedge funds and other traders to disclose more information when they bet that stocks will decline and signaling that more restrictions could come soon.

Traders must inform regulators when their net-short positions account for at least 0.1% of a company’s share capital, down from 0.2%, according to the Paris-based European Securities and Markets Authority. The change, which goes into effect after markets close Monday, is being made to give regulators to more information to help with oversight.

I dont know if current UK practice is in any book,Ekuuleus, outside of training manuals for brokers which I have had and studied and promptly forgotten.

Of course the Wizards view is if you dont know the clever stuff..get some one who does to manage your money.

Where does 300 billion come from?

My guess is, each pound becomes worth a bit less such that the number now buys the same as the number before+ 300bn.

HUGE financial package of measures announced by U.S and U.K to save businesses and individuals but with money they are going to print. That means inflation and a rise in interest rates to follow logically. What's that expression that springs to mind..." the operation was a total success but the patient died" !

GO home zingdong your boring.

mate of mine came back from 3 wks in Tasmania on Sunday. The government over there have opted for the 'do fk all approach' to C19. He arrived in the UK thinking there had been a zombie apocalypse.

Jl5, looks as though I have survived Cheltenham BUT the Mrs might have to work for home so I might just top myself anyway. Actually, I will just get her a Dr Alice Robert's cardboard face mask & some false boobs

Bobs Yr Uncle 18 Mar 2020 7:05AMThe bigger the bubble the big the pop.Today it looks to me like the entire service sector (which is huge in the UK) is being thrown under a bus. The ramifications of this are huge, far bigger than the virus and it's mortality rate, which is less than 10% among those in and over their 80's,(the most vulnerable)However it's too late, lemming mentality and the left-leaning media have driven the agenda.
