13/12/2019 11:19 | Boris has already told a lie this morning. The result does not give a clear mandate for Brexit. Of course, him and his plutocratic backers will make sure the dunderheads believe it. The vote was clouded by those not wanting Corbyn. A vote of the worst of two evils. Many will have voted Tory last night who would vote Remain in a referendum I am sure. We will never know now. The tabloids did a wonderful job of making Corbyn look evil. I'm not saying he is perfect, and some of McDonnell's ideas were simply unacceptable, certain (wealthy) Jews came in and did the job when they were called upon. ;) Anyway, I wouldn't get too excited chimpies. You bought the lottery ticket for £10 and find it to be a winner. You all think you have won the shiny future that Brexit brings when in reality you are one of millions who have just won another tote bag worth £1 with words written on it saying "you've been taken for a ride you plonka!". LOL I have the courage to accept a GE defeat. I'm Liberal, generally, but Swinson was out of her depth and her removal comes as no surprise. Now let us see Boris execute his promises, let us see if he builds six new hospitals because we all know 40 was a lie. Let us see him build these freeports and see how they work when the destinations are only 20 miles on the other side of the channel. Let us see him keep the UK together. Let us see him prop up farming, the auto industry, reduce hospital waiting times, reduce crime, improve our roads, clean up forgotten industrial towns etc.. etc.. and deliver the utopia the voting clowns last night believe they are going to get. When all the above gets done, I will have the courage to say I was wrong. If it isn't done, I hope the morons and chimps will not resort to their life long habits of being on a good excuse, blaming someone else and admit their failure. The circus has only started and you are still the clowns. Good luck! LOL | minerve 2

13/12/2019 11:13 | Dominic Cummings, Boris Johnson's chief adviser, says MPs and journalists should have learned from EU referendum Verity Bowman Christopher Hope, chief political correspondent 13 DECEMBER 2019 • 8:24AM Dominic Cummings, Boris Johnson's chief adviser, has said MPs and journalists should have learned from EU referendum. According to Mr Cummings, MPs and journalists “doubled down” on their views after the referendum instead of understanding the mood of the nation. Friends of Mr Cummings traced back Mr Johnson's landslide to the political class's reaction to the MP expenses scandal exposed by The Daily Telegraph in 2009. Mr Cummings, who is credited with masterminding the successful Vote Leave campaign in the 2016 referendum, said the conversations MPs and journalists have in London are "a million miles away from reality". | maxk
13/12/2019 11:13 | Tories have won a landslide with 43% of those who voted , giving them 55% of the seats in the UK in fact Johnson declared it an earthquake . SNP won 80% of the seats with 45% of those who voted in Scotland . Not a landslide , not even a little tremor and in Johnson terms means very little . We'll see . | bargainbob

13/12/2019 10:54 | Almost on topic!! Just been to lloyds pharmacy at the hospital for the wife. Whilst waiting. There is one old trout ripping in to the serving girl because she had to wait even though it was pre ordered. Another two were moaning like hell because they had to pay to park. Socialism at full tilt. Tory scum never put any funds into the NHS. We shouldnt have to. | scruff1
13/12/2019 10:53 | More froth this morning than a café latte. Like a latte it will settle. A clear result and gives more chance to my preferred outcome which is an 'organised' exit. (Poika - you don't need to ask me again!). I hope people have taken advantage of the froth - don't be too greedy. ;) | alphorn
13/12/2019 10:50 | “I would like to congratulate Boris Johnson on his victory. We expect a vote on the withdrawal agreement as soon as possible,” Charles Michel, the European Council president who chairs European summits, said Friday. He told CNBC: “We are ready, we have decided what are our priorities,” adding that it will be “important to keep this close cooperation with the United Kingdom.” Xavier Bettel, the Luxembourg prime minister told CNBC Thursday that he would like the new parliamentary majority in the U.K. to agree to all the future relations “very quickly.” “In 11 months you can do a lot of things, if you have the political will,” Pedro Sanchez, the Spanish prime minister told CNBC Thursday. | m5

13/12/2019 10:42 | What really has made my day, is that the public gave a kicking to those who were attempting to bring down democracy here, and those who would destroy the country. Truly, I was despairing over what seemed to be happening: support for the blocking of the referendum result; support for a silly young woman who thought it credible to bring her baby into the HoC; support for a labour leader who was offering 'free' everything, and so on. Of course, it was only the media who were keeping them alive and offering them any credibility - led by the BBC - when they clearly (to me) had none. | poikka

13/12/2019 10:04 | I would like to thank Swinson, the Tory ladies who switched to her, extinction rebellion and their havoc, our traitor and antidemocrat MPs, the EU itself, the MPs who stopped Brexit for a while and the very strong BBC bias, who all worked wonderfully together to orchestrate this Tory landslide victory. | pierre oreilly |
