20/8/2019 11:43 | Agreed. but poor old Boris, how can he sleep. If he tries for no deal he could get kicked out and lose an election to a Corbyn/SNP coalition. He knows the risks, I would not wish to be in his position. Corbyn promises a government as radical as 1945. Even in America the Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren types are gaining ground. It is the younger voters who are the danger here. The polls consistently show that up to the age of 45 they reject the tories by a massive majority. ironic really, an attempt at getting a ERG or Nigel Farage type, 'pure' 'clean', 'hard' Brexit could let in Corbyn and his radicals. | careful
20/8/2019 11:39 | You really think the EU want a no deal when times are changing fast in Europe, Italy with banking problems and now Germany heading into recession, they will do a deal to boost themselves. | mikemichael2
20/8/2019 11:33 | Careful - It is amazing - but the reality - that after more than 3 years nobody has a clue about the outcome. | alphorn
20/8/2019 11:29 | The EU. have a difficult decision to make in this game of three dimensional chess. If they are inflexible and play tough, then they risk a no deal,( which they do not want.) But if they are tough they know that no deal leads to political chaos in the UK, possibly resulting in a general election and the UK remaining in the EU.(Which they do want) What would we do in their position? | careful

20/8/2019 10:56 | Brexit latest news: EU diplomats claim Boris Johnson's demand to abolish backstop is 'clear attempt' to kill off negotiations Harry Yorke, political correspondent James Crisp, brussels correspondent 20 AUGUST 2019 • 10:38AM Brussels has hit back at Boris Johnson over his letter to Donald Tusk, with EU diplomats claiming that his demand to abolish the Irish backstop is a “clear attempt” to kill off any prospect of renegotiating the Brexit deal.
