Agreed about trade deal.
That will not be easy.
Any trade deal will be inferior to what we have now.

Human nature, if we needed paperwork every time we entered Wales or Scotland we would never bother.

Exchange of letters on the backstop suggests to me that they will get a deal, even if it just waffle and weasel words.

May's deal is perfect as it stands, out of the EU. with all of the advantages.
so we stick by their rules (that we helped wrote), ok, beggars can't be choosers.

But how can it get through parliament?
Labour, SNP, Lib dems will vote it down because they want remain.

But it could get through, just, as the alternatives are worse.

Missed that news, Alps, have you got the link?

Mr Elbee

"The answer is this; The EU will wage a relentless economic war against us even at the expense of their own member states. It will finish the euro project completely,of course, but what do the officials care? they have no standards..no decency.... just crooks in suits with big fat salaries"

I buy very little from the EU these days so am highly sceptical that they'll either behave so, or be successful in behaving so!

Plenty of substitutes for most EU produce all year round.

I hear that Chris Grayling will come off the back benches to mastermind the granting of the £100m contact for the Brexit PR campaign. This follows his success with the multi-million contract to Seaborne Freight ferry company which had no ships.

Carrie Symonds the 31-year-old PR guru must be in the running. (You think that I am joking).

ROTFLMAO

This election is likely to happen by Christmas.
Cant work out exactly how former Tory voters who are remainers or who would accept mays deal will vote.

I am in that group.

Corbyn or any coalition led by him would be a disaster.
Lib Dems could do very well but we must not let Corbyn in.
Same goes for voting for Farage.

We do not want a Labour/SNP coalition by default.

Why would Corbyn lose a vote of no confidence? I am sure he can find common ground to push a majority through.

'When we applied to join the EEC in 1972, we were not in a position to make the EEC change its whole tariff policy to accommodate our consumers or our historic low food price policy which had prevailed since the repeal of the Corn Laws. Instead, part of the price of membership was to swallow the bitter pill of higher food prices. Heath’s White Paper advocating EEC entry in 1971 estimated that “membership will affect food prices gradually over a period of about six years with an increase of about 2.5 per cent each year in retail prices” (para 88 on p.23).'

Labour polled 5% in Brecon and almost lost their deposit. Anyone who thinks that Steptoe is going to try to trigger a GE by proposing a VONC which he'd lose anyway must be on some good gear.

The only possible way that Corbyn’s Labour can form a Government is to do a deal - a coalition - with the SNP

A party that is solely focussed on breaking up the United Kingdom

How are English working class men and women going to feel about being ruled by the SNP a party that despises English people
