21/6/2019 12:38 | It was good to see that Rolls Royce and Seimens have signed an agreement to develop electric aero engines. The eu. fast tracked research money from the eu. budget to RR. to develop this technology. The close ties have been successful for decades. The EU. desire to develop technology that makes it independent from America is strong. Jaguar Land Rover has recently joined forces with BMW to develop electric power units for cars. The executives of these companies are worried that their operations will be disrupted with a no deal Brexit. My guess is that something will be sorted, they will carry on as before. | ![]() careful
21/6/2019 12:28 | Totally agree with your view here ST | ![]() mr.elbee
21/6/2019 12:22 | Pal, he, and the tories, will only be finished if we don't exit the eu in Oct. If we do, which looks likely to me, then we'll have an oaf for pm for a few years. To me, that would make a refreshing change for all his faults. At least there'll be a little fun in politics. | ![]() shy tott
21/6/2019 12:21 | You can guarantee Boris will fall on his own sword. Just a matter of time. | ![]() minerve 2

21/6/2019 12:16 | So we STAY THE SAME. LOL Might as well Remain then! What are you scared of? I thought change was good, but now, you want to stay the same! Cowards. | ![]() minerve 2

21/6/2019 12:08 | Minerve: "If you lose your job"....get on yer bike and get another in the land of opportunity which the UK will be once we've ditched the wasteful EU. Leave them to tie themselves in knots with their bureaucracy. We don't need them, we don't want them, leave no deal on 31/10/19. New date for BREXIT party celebrations. | ![]() cheshire pete
21/6/2019 12:06 | cheshire Thatcher would have owned Farage. No problem. I would too. The guy isn't difficult to argue against. Sadly, the UK is fall of self-serving chimps and cowards. I am neither. | ![]() minerve 2
21/6/2019 12:05 | careful Large businesses will manage the margins for a while and then changes will come. Prices will either go up or quality will go down. Choice will disappear and service will fall. I think you got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning. | ![]() minerve 2
21/6/2019 12:00 | Wrong on Thatcher Minerve, if you saw the last documentary on her this week. It was her standing up to an increasingly federal Europe that brought about her downfall by treacherous Heseltine and Howe. | ![]() cheshire pete
21/6/2019 11:59 | I am genuinely trying to guess what will happen in practice. I think very little will change. When you think the Italy has so many changes of government, messy coalitions, that you could hardly name them. but the Italian economy functions quite well. (I know there are some problems) | ![]() careful
21/6/2019 11:56 | So if you say we may 'crash out' and expect there'll be no great reaction over the leaving days, are you expecting a 'soft crash'? Or is your post, yet again, simply a self-contradictory or oxymoronic post? | ![]() shy tott
21/6/2019 11:55 | So I go to my Mercedes garage after we crash out, and try to order a new Mercedes. I need to change my existing one because it is too experienced right now. What will the dealers say? 'We are on WTO and it will cost you 20% more, go away.' | ![]() careful

21/6/2019 11:55 | Anything else they can fine Lloyds for? ...António Horta-Osório, Chief Executive of Lloyds Banking Group, says lessons have been learned (while also reminding us that the fraud took place before Lloyds rescued HBOS during the financial crisis): | ![]() optomistic
21/6/2019 11:50 | Dream on careful. You may not see immediate change but the cancer will start. In fact, the cancer is already with us. | ![]() minerve 2

21/6/2019 11:43 | yes maxk, I was wondering that. Brexit has the feel of the millennium 2k computer bug that was going to bring the world to an end. As Kenneth Clarke said, if we crash out on the 29th then what exactly will happen the day after? All thing being equal, everyone will carry on as before. As for the Irish border, if they check a few cattle crossing the border the catholics and protectants will start shooting each other again. Really? Reminds me about the time the London philharmonic were playing at the Royal Albert Hall and there was a power cut. The orchestra could not see the conductor in the dark, yet carried on playing brilliantly. 'As he gone home?, one of the violinists said to his chum.' So with Brexit, it will come and go and we shall not know. | ![]() careful |
