This seems to be today's timetable - May will meet with Sir Graham Brady at 9am this morning. Understand PM will make the announcement afterwards.

Not long to wait.

There could be a mini-relief rally until the reality of more uncertainty returns.

It's time for the cow to be slotted. We need a real brexiteer to deal with the snakes of Brussels. If they want us to stay so badly, any deal will be an equal partnership. If not bye bye Germany. (A big thanks to Farage)

I spoke to a Brexiter in a restaurant last night and I had lost him by about the second sentence. It amused my GF and I. LOL

hernando - exactly, this should have nothing to do with politics and all about securing the best arrangement for the country.

#108. It is as clear as a sunny day that there is no 'exit' scenario that is particularly attractive. That is the root problem, despite the filtered nutters like x5 who prattle on.

The key error IMO was viewing it as the responsibility of the party in Government , rather than HoC on behalf of the electorate.

From day one there should have been cross part working groups, and working groups involving business , community and charity leaders.
The first 6 to 9 months should should been consultation across all.

Straw men could then be drafted and circulated for comment / discussion.

Then the politicking and negotiating with the EU could be undertaken by the government on behalf of all.

If that had then arrived at the position we are in today, we would be sure that leavers and remainers would be unable to come to some sort of way forward.

Unfortunately Mrs Mays approach reinforced the divisions and that IMO is her legacy.

"Perfection is always difficult, but a near miss is probably ok."

I don't believe you have come anywhere near perfection in your life to know what it is. But that is just my opinion. ;)

For those who didn't see Andrew Neill last night - Rees Mogg's new book was described as "outstandingly silly and morally repugnant." I think I'll have to buy it now - sounds good!

What May conjured up was a fatal crash.

I think you are right on that one Ace. She is the only one who understands what compromise is and that perfection isn't achievable.

Q8 misses that woman in Northern Ireland …. her AND rebel Tory MPs, all of whom like the majority here, can see no further than the end of their noses. History will treat May a lot kinder than the current majority view.
