Not expecting too much for the next few days

Will continue to stay out until after the election results are known in their entirety
There are bargains for the brave going begging but uncertainty holds sway for the present
Will add at 200 level in the unlikely event but .......think many more morsels might present themselves

Glastonbury very disappointing this year

Here comes the Summer good luck everyone

Half year analysis shows, once again (surprise, surprise!), that my dividend paying holdings continue to be a drag on my overall portfolio performance.

17% of my portfolio by value is in 6 dividend paying holdings. The other 83% is mainly in global equity funds, split 55% managed and 45% tracker funds.

At the half year the total return from the portfolio is +10.8%. Equity funds are at +12.7% whilst dividend paying holdings are at +2.6%. LGEN has delivered a total return ytd of -3.7%.

You can't argue with results!

The 2025 divi cut from 5 to 2% growth, is something I can accept for a high income share like lGEN. The BB plan is more than this cut, if indeed, is at least 200 mil/yr. My hope is the new CEO will deliver more than this expectation, but needs up to 2 years to see it. The current Yield remains compelling & H1 results in early August (important milestone for new CEO)..

Note that "L&G International Index Trust" is actually a fund (OEIC/unit trust), not an investment trust.

If you prefer an instantly tradable investment trust: LGGG (L&G Global Growth) has identical performance, presumably because it tracks the same index.

Recently, though "Legal & General Global 100 Index Trust" (also an OEIC/unit trust) has performed better than either of the two mentioned above. I'm not aware of an IT equivalent, unfortunately.

adejuk - I'm more than happy with the results achieved from a simple global equity tracker fund. Legal & General International Intex Trust Acc has been an excellent performer for me.

I've spent the last 2 years reducing my exposure to dividend paying holdings. They used to account for approx 35% by value of my portfolio. That's down to around 17% now. My aim is around 15%, or less, by value.

Good luck!

FWIW :- HSBC cuts Legal & General to 'hold' - price target 260 pence

And again 260 would be most acceptable.

HSBC cuts Legal & General to 'hold' - price target 260 pence. Maybe we should sell something off like Phoenix.
