19/4/2012 09:09 | King Cuthbert With the international expansion going along nicely and steady as I would prefer, I think once we get a franchise partner in China this will become the next Burberry. dyor regards active | ![]() srpactive
15/4/2012 12:59 | I was in Saffron Walden on Bank Holiday Monday. This "up market" small town was generally quiet regarding shoppers but their Laura Ashley was packed. With such good shop trading activity and a handsome growing yield, ALY stands out like a sore thumb in the nicest sense. srpactive - you're spot on. | ![]() king cuthbert xxvii
30/3/2012 16:57 | Hello all Bought a few more today to add to my income portfolio with the profit from a trade on bpty. Will continue to buy at various times, I am expecting a slow grind to 26p once the magazines and newspapers have woke up to the fact that aly is the retailer to hold not only for the 8.6% yield but also for the growth in like for like. Once the recession is behind us aly will benefit most from the upturn. Excellent hotel purchase. dyor regards active | ![]() srpactive
30/3/2012 08:52 | Yes, gross margin about 56% duggan. If you increase ALY sales by 10.9%, with same gross margin and with other costs fixed you increase pretax profit by about £17m (ie almost double it!). Highly unlikely I guess as other costs may and probably will rise, and trading seems a bit up and down. Even so....there's the clear possibility of ALY smashing forecasts if trading stays strong IMVHO. | britishb
30/3/2012 08:42 | when is the next 5% divi paid? edit This dividend will be proposed at the AGM on 11 June 2012 and, subject to shareholders' approval, will be paid on 11 July 2012 to all shareholders on the Register at the close of business on 15 June 2012. The ex-dividend date will be on 13 June 2012. | dugganjoe
29/3/2012 22:15 | work it out " 11% like for like growth and 60% margin...." How good is that!! | dugganjoe
29/3/2012 21:45 | Yes that high dividend yield at the current share price is rock solid for as long as lfl sales grow as impressively as that reported. ALY might not be marketable enough for institutions but is a perfect play for private investors looking for yield. | ![]() king cuthbert xxvii
29/3/2012 10:42 | Needs to close around where it is now, if it does it will have formed a new 12mth high which will encourage the momentum investors to buy, especially as we had a golden cross the other week. I am still buying and will buy more if it closes at 23p or higher. dyor regards active | ![]() srpactive
29/3/2012 10:35 | In your dreams, seen this all before, it won't move morthwards much!! i hope i eat my words | ![]() philmac56
29/3/2012 08:57 | Excellent dividend 10% from my buying price. The figures for the first 8 weeks of the fiscal year up 10.9%, good heavens, this will be testing 25.5p very soon imho. Another gem. dyor regards active | ![]() srpactive

29/3/2012 08:51 | look at the 2p dividend :-) | dugganjoe
29/3/2012 08:49 | They will if the year continues as it started; 'For the first 8 weeks of the current financial year to 24 March 2012, like-for-like sales growth is 10.9%.' Great results imo. | ![]() cestnous
29/3/2012 08:22 | fab results | dugganjoe
29/3/2012 08:21 | 10.9% lfl growth this year vs a forecast that looks pretty flat. If they can keep up that sort of performance they will smash forecasts one might surmise....if! | britishb
11/3/2012 10:03 | i would take 35p at this moment which would be dividends covered for a few years :-) | dugganjoe
