I've sold a lot of mine after that director change news - all looks a bit too much all in one go imo.

The divi has been huge here - usuall means the stock has to re-rate or the market doesn't think it's sustainable. I was banking on the former but director changes like that make me question it.

I'd soon play safe and be wrong myself.

i personnally can't see the announcement helping the share price

She was a good CEO who certainly seemed to get ALY back on the tracks.

Loads of cash at hand now, but share price still drags down.........i can't understand why.

private ???????????

perhaps she's off to TCG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Down 2p is the markets verdict, not a great day to announce this and in the present environment taken as raising the likelihood of bad news

Does anyone have any views on the change at the top today annnounced today. Unusual to go back unless the Co has been mismanaged which does not seem the case here.

1p divi paid at the interims - doubled from 0.5p.

1p final divi klast year. I can't see any way they would reduce H2 divi after raising H1 divi that much. So 2p divi looks on the cards imo.

If they pay a 2p div that's greater than the forecast eps for this year - only way they can maintain that is if deep down the directors expect earning to grow stronggly imo.

They sounded confident at the Sep Interims:

""These are a set of pleasing results with a 28% increase in profit before tax and exceptional items and a UK like-for-like sales growth of 3.5% over the period in what has been a very unsettled time for the retail sector.

I am delighted that, once again, Laura Ashley's strong product offering, distinctive brand and continued focus on providing an attractive retail experience for customers have delivered another robust performance. These results show that our multi-channel and international strategies are working well. These, along with our strong balance sheet and ongoing operational efficiencies, give me confidence, notwithstanding the continuing economic headwinds, that we will meet the Board's expectations for the year."

Record Date: 14 October 2011
Ex-div Date: 12 October 2011 (Interim DPS = 1.00 )
Payment Date: 08 November 2011

Final DPS Record Date: 17 June 2011
Ex-div Date: 15 June 2011 (Final DPS = 1.00 )
Payment Date: 15 July 2011

The Ex date is the date you need to be holding the shares on to get the divi. The record date is pointless information really.

XD's are always Weds.

Thank for your reply regarding the future divi.

I can't find what you refer to.

Last year they went ex divi on 15th June and pay day was the 15th July.

Could you please elaborate.

Thanks.

I like the way the Company has defied the trend with its sales, despite a trecherous retail environment. Looks like canny shoppers are returning & are loyal to the LA brand, quality verses price.

2p annual divi here - near 10%

When you read the intereims and the way the co raised the divi by 100% you have to ask how these are so cheap, especially with their cash position imo.
