srp - but where is that cash in the bank going ?
2-3 years ago they had £30m in the bank
I don't think LA will go bust - I think they will go private
I believe the shares will continue to fall until they reach the wanted buy price - whatever that is.
Then there may be a small premium and then .... de-listed.

Yes fair point, but with £15m in the bank little debt, I do feel
Aly is worth more than £4m, the name alone is worth many millions
more in my honest opinion.
Urban Outfitters are worth £3bn I believe and I would say more people
around the world know Aly than UO.

Well if they have that much cash - surely its time to increase Directors' remuneration ?

They had £9m from the Singapore sale after paying back debt, so
less charge on the debt, then they sold the hotel for £6m so more
interest on the £15m cash.

Maybe they would be better selling "Ashley Ice Creams" DB but they may cream off more than many bargained for.

The board has probably just been told how much the Easter takings were which would have been close to zero as everyone was outside enjoying the sunshine.

Very depressing TS/ In light of this statement it seems other posters fears may soon be reality.

How long before it goes sub 1p?

so now you know...with the company reacting, it is now in play. they did not have to say anything because it was a really stupid PR stunt, but they did. My guess is a low double digit share price will get it done...need to do more work on it however

No offer is better than a bad offer and this has to be the worst takeover offer ever.
Why did Flacks bother, did he just want to get his name in the Sun Telegraph.

What is the true value of a Brand like Laura Ashley ?

I would suggest that in the right hands the Brand alone could be valued at more than £21 million let alone the other assets.

It is just such a shame that the company has been used for personal reasons in such a nefarious manner, when so many good peoples livelihoods are involved.
