greedfear - its been low volumes for months apart from the 1-day results excitement, no doubt traders jumping on board for a quick profit.

I was buying over the past few weeks, I feel that the bottom is in. Buy and hold. It will take perhaps 3-5 years but a return to 30p in the future is my target. Great share for the SIPP.

Very nice volume. Really holding up good. A close at day high would be fantastic.

This is why so many people lose money they don't understand market expectations. Today news exceeded market expectations

debs has a reasonable point of view on this one imo. One needs to look at the background and reflect on some of the very negative posts about the management and main stakeholders that were posted by a number of interested parties on this thread over the past twelve months or so, and then weigh up the risks to reward?

Written like a real downer. :)

A lot of positives here. Management currently doing all the right things. This share is far less risky now then it has been. Share price not reflecting the potential c.q. value (of the LA brand).

Buy and hold. This will rerate.

It's about risk reward though isn't it. Thats the whole point of speculation and the markets. The reason the valuation is so low is because these are still risky. Who's to say their expansion into hotel won't be a great success? Who's to say the online fashion won't take off? Looks to me by the recent number it is and they still turned a profit and will write Down over £30m of debt with the property sale.

Who`s to say that any profit they might earn next year will not be written off again as a one off. No divi - £100k profit and a management that buys property only to sell it in a couple of years and write off over £4 million on the deal.

Beware!

The Singapore property was bought for £31.1m in June 2015. Being sold for 30.3m.

One does wonder why lowlife on these baords feel the need to simply invent numbers for a good ramp. Only one word for them. See you next Tuesday...

This has huge potential, but still not without risk. The main reason for a low rating is distrust of the majority shareholder, which may or may not be warranted. If he decided to sell it could easily be at 5 times current price.

I'm happy to say I bought a few here last week at 4.2p - as a bit of a punt it has to be said. Looking at today's results and the property sale, I think ALY is worth 8p.

It's a pity about the divi, but understandable, and overall, these results are better than hoped. The disposal slightly under book value isn't a concern, and it's far more important to reduce gearing IMO.

I now make my realistic own estimation of NTAV (which involves severely writing down the value of inventory) around £20m / 2.75p per share and expect earnings per share of at least 1p going forward - with a restoration of the dividend.

I also think the Hotel and Tea Room concept is a good idea that will help enhance eps.

Whatever Khoo Kay Peng's plans may be - you can bet he's interested in the bottom line, and a good yield going forward I would have thought, so I'm happy to align my small interest with his >60%, unless we get to 8p anyway.
