11/3/2016 11:38 | Why is ASY a good one in the portfolio | tony773
03/3/2016 16:01 | o/t ASY looks good next to ALY in the portfolio if you want yield. | thorpematt
03/3/2016 12:59 | why? still yields over 6%, PE under 10, at least 10 years of unbroken dividend increases not expensive by any means | rcturner2

03/3/2016 11:51 | Yes, here, paf, hgm and yesterday again at gfs. I sold a little itv lot at 255p the other week and I am starting to reinvest it into the next group of five baggers. Will probably return to itv before the 28 April for the very handsome 14.1p dividend. Also following lam and fccn. What are you busy at? dyor regards active | srpactive

23/2/2016 08:53 | FWIW I think the chart here is not yet at support levels which trigger buys for most with this on the watchlist. I also think its important to note that ALY divi policy is a tad erratic and thus that yield is not guaranteed. Historically ALY has poor growth but excellent cash generation. "Owners earnings" are usually very good with benefits being manifested in the high payout ratio. The ongoing divorce issue alongside that recent purchase of an expensive office building are also possible flags which may deter divi payout in the short-term. That aside there is a strong brand name, good exposure to a number of markets but a rather un-dynamic growth strategy. I am looking to buy at 23p and below since I think it's a that point that the chart shows relevant levels of support. For patient investors much of what I have written is an irrellevance. | thorpematt
23/2/2016 08:42 | Hey Oak - we meet again! I've just dropped a bit of profit from MTR into here. It looks a safe bet to me with a good return on the dividend! | eggbird

22/2/2016 14:55 | I've snapped a few of these up today. Great yield and profit making company with no debt - might be boring but I'm happy to go with that for the dividend! | eggbird
15/2/2016 14:59 | Couple of updated items: Total of 12 stores to be closed in Australia by the administrators with a further 25 continuing to trade with the hope of selling them as a going concern. Therefore that should reduce the exposure Laura Ashley has with their stock in these franchises. hxxp://www.smartcomp Other item of interest is the ongoing divorce of ALY's Chairman. The English Judge making an 'unprecedented order' in an effort to force a settlement. | carcosa
15/2/2016 14:18 | Not really, we must remember the fundamentals are still okay, the city expect the dividend to come down a little that is why we have fallen to where we are now. But everyone is forgetting the very good fashion appointment, she will turn the fashion around then we will have the fashion and furniture etc booming. I try to buy when everyone else is switched off, a 2p dividend here is most attractive and welcome. I am very boring by nature so boring me just buys low valued companies offering a good dividend in the right sector, I have just posted a few thoughts on my war time portfolio on rbs thread, go and have a read if you like boring active. dyor | srpactive
