spractive, market hates this property purchase. What's your take?

-----

Was 35p, when the property RNS came out.

Now 27p.

I assume you are aquainted with recent China scams.

It gives the individual total control over the money.

It will never be clear if the office/building was ever bought, bought off a mate, or hundred combinations.

Stockopedia have just emailed a rather supportive analysis of Laura Ashley.

There are 24 comments already on the article and they break 50/50 supportive/unsupportive. The main concern and discussion, as on here, is the Singapore property purchase.

Stockopedia quote: "Overall I reckon that cynics will say that this deal smells fishy, which to be honest, at first sight, it does. However, once investors have had time to inspect the valuation report, and conduct our own desktop due diligence on Singapore property, then attention should begin to turn to the expansion possibilities in the Far East. Who better than Far Eastern Directors and shareholders to manage that expansion? ...

Remember that ALY pays a fabulous dividend, and has done so for years. That's the crux when considering whether majority shareholders are feathering their own nest or not. If outside shareholders get a whacking great divi every year, and Directors remuneration is modest, as is the case here, then we haven't really got anything to complain about."

Stockopedia is a subscription service so I haven't linked to it.

The 'market' holds no opinion about the property purchase. It is a physical asset that sits on the balance sheet & will reduce costs over time as we reduce our rental liability. FFS!

Double bottom on the chart, dividend, retail sales picking up,
hotels doing well.

investorneil, thanks. i realised that 5 minutes after i wrote it. but i still think that Malaysia and Singapore are close enough to make it a possible explanation. i welcome any alternative credible explanation for such an action by a successful businessman

ALY,

Is worth zero.

We all. Know that is not trure.

The UK, shops might some value.

If they structure it negative, even the UK, will be debt.

Exatly what you want.

Try to think.

That money just went out of AIM regulation.

They can now steal it at will.

Has anybody come up with any credible reason for the purchase of the building in Malaysia? the best i can come up with is that is intended to show his support for the region in order to make sure that the Malay courts insist on the divorce hearing taking place in Malaysia. any better explanations gratefully received.
